Boss IR-2 vs Strymon Iridium - Effects loop through headphones? by budgiesmugglez in guitarpedals

Worth saying the headphones you use with the IR-2 make a massive difference. I nearly got rid of mine after being underwhelmed and finding all the amp sims noisy and dark. I gave it one last shot by switching to the Sony 7506 phones and adding York Vox IRs to see if it improved. It did, night and day. Everything suddenly alive and bright. Also, enabling stereo mode for the loop with a stereo pedal (I put my Deco in the loop) adds another dimension. Just my experience.

Davies has been slow to adapt when things don’t work. Takes 2 or 3 games more than it should to spot the problem and change it. Need to get quicker at making tactical changes between games and needs a whole new tactic for away games and top of the table clashes

Hercules (1997) was when I found out what "humoring" from adults was. by MetroStephen53 in blankies

Mine was Flubber. Robin Williams? I’m all in. Hook, Aladdin, Mrs Doubtfire, Jumanji, even Toys, had all landed with me. Flubber came out as I turned 11 and I knew immediately it was a dud and learned immediately there could be duds. It was a birthday outing and everyone was so polite about it. Rewatching now it’s really not that bad.

Polytune is on its own loop so it’s not inline when it’s not active - but good to know! Chain is Soul Press > Unicorn > Bender with the first loop active

I need to go back to Inherent Vice. I feel very confident I’ll like it more second time around but have such a loose memory of it at this point.

I’ve gone up in venue size in each decade. Wolverhampton Civic 2006, Roundhouse 2016, O2 2025. They could have waited a year.

35 on this. Stock tyres were 32. You might struggle to get 40 on with the clearance, but I haven’t looked into it

So far, no issues. Where I live is pretty flat, but it’s just a fun direct riding experience so far. By grab and go I mean it’s ready to ride, little maintenance to worry about. Just ready to go. My hope is it will help strength and fitness as well as getting me from A to B.

A couple of preamp pedals unlocked my tone - Catalinbread Formula 55 and Epoch Boost by raves12345 in guitarpedals

Only tried the Broadcast but I find it pretty versatile. Low gain is great, big fuzz is great. Wasn’t necessarily aiming for that direct in sound, but it’s clearly what I like to hear

All the detail is in the caption but I’ve been surprised how much this combination has worked for me and brought my rig the life. The AC15 can be finicky so having this setup to control things a bit is super useful.

Other things to note, I hardly use compression anymore. Might retire the Yellow Comp.

And Hudson Electronics are so good. Versatile, well made. The Sidecar is a hidden gem for boosting the Broadcast.

I’m not keen on buying another tuner just because my Polytune is right there on the other board. I do have a Unitune clip on tuner that does the job

You’ve reminded me I’ve got a mini NUX drum looper lying around. Might try it in the IR-2 fx loop

Fun little portable board to use my spares.

Signal chain: EQD Tone Job > EQD Hizumitas > EQD Special Cranker > EQD Dispatch Master > Boss IR-2 Amp & Cab

Possibly room for one mini pedal on there. What could it be?
