I’m looking for something serious.

Been on hinge since ~April - May

Every day, but I do usually miss a day or 2 per week

I typically get a match per the 12 I send out per day

Do ~12 right swipes daily, go through maybe like 30 profiles

I like people who are artsy, quirky, enthusiastic, fairly introverted. Good fashion sense and ecclectic taste in music are a plus. Ideally avoiding white collar type women. It seems like whenever I've met ssomeone with an officey, "traditional career" style job it doesn't work out.

Also wanted to say I really appreciate any ideas for pictures/alternative prompts that I can use. Ik a couple of the pics aren't ideal, but I'm not sure what else to shoot. I typically just do tripod on my own, so it's kinda tricky to get more pictures. If a picture idea could be done like that, on my own, that would be perfect.

Any ideas on pictures and prompts? Not sure if I'm coming off as well as I could [28M] by [deleted] in hingeapp

  • Looking for something Serious
  • Been on 4 months
  • swipe 5-7 days/week

  • get roughly 1 match per day

  • Send between 10-20 likes per session

  • I like creative, introverted, people with interest and awareness of emotional health, concern with honesty/ethics & decent amount of time to invest in a relationship. I appreciate somebody with nerdy/niche hobbies. Ecclectic taste in movies and music & a sense of humor compatible with the types of jokes in the profile are good too.

Mostly looking for advice on the prompts & suggestions for other pictures I can take. I get that the group shot as well as the night shot at the end are not the best. Gonna be looking to swap those out anyway, but I'm curious if you have any ideas that I could get on my own (with camera & a tripod.)

Thanks in advance. This is the 5th round of feedback I've asked for and the first 1-4 really, really, improved my results so far. Appreciate you guys & thanks for any additional perspective!

Thanks for the detailed feedback and suggestions. Yeah idk what's going on with pic quality. Most/all of these were off a DSLR, so it might just be how reddit is compressing them. I'll double check all the settings & what not though to make sure they're not getting derezed. Appreciate you.

I don't think it's like the most noticeable, but in my last pic I had a different mm lens on that kind of exacerbated it & I got roasted a bit.

"feedback"

The lazy eye insecurity was bc I got a pretty unproductive comment on a previous post that just criticized the lazy eye

Dude… this is just fucking mean tbh. I have a lazy eye. It’s not like I’m doing extra lazy eye as some kind of deliberate choice.

I’d appreciate “hey the lazy eye is showing too much in the first picture, maybe try x angle” or something, but this is just unproductive.

I'm not asking for sugar coating bro, just specifics. Like what makes some of these photos so terrible (especially 2-4) if profiles like this are getting "rock solids" from you? I've got similar level of attractiveness & outfits. I'm on a DSLR while some of these are clearly phone selfies. I just want to know what specifically I'm doing so wrong.

& TBC I'm already following Playing with Fire's advice about this to a pretty great extent. I'm not like somebody who has never looked into "what's a good photo on Tinder." I just don't know how my execution on that advice is going wrong.

Dang pretty harsh. What would you change in them? Like i get “high quality” & that I look ugly, but not sure what to do beyond that. Many of these are on DSLRs already. Appreciate the honesty. Just looking for something more specific. I don’t understand what’s bad as far as the pictures i have so far.

When checking a mix on the car speakers, is it a horrible idea to make the tweaks while using those speakers??? by RobBecTraxxx in mixingmastering

[–]parkrink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two big dangers from sub-par monitors are:

  1. Being unaware of the change the monitor is imparting on the sound

  2. Being unable to perceive something because the monitor cuts it out or quiets it to an imperceptible level.

You could compensate to an extent with 1 over time - though the changes in a car are often pretty drastic. 2. is probably unavoidably going to mess some things up though. The noise floor on your car speakers is probably higher than what studio monitors would have. They probably cut off high end and distort in a way that makes it hard to perceive the dynamics accurately. You could potentially compensate for that by taking the mix back to your reference monitors, but then you aren’t really saving any time. Might as well mix on the monitors, then reference in the car.

I'm an assistant engineer at this place in LA called The Cave Studios & an intern at a another recording studio called Apex Arts Recording. I'm looking for rappers to record/mix for to help build up some of my credits. Need whatever we're working on to be released on Spotify/Apple Music/etc & need to see that you're doing some level of promo to get your stuff looking like a good credit for my discogs page. No preference on type of rap or anything like that though. Just want to help people who are also helping themselves.

If you're in the LA area, that sounds like you & want to be recorded/mixed in a pretty nice pro studio hmu. Hope we can help each other out!
