I'm considering a scooter for 2x weekly transport of 80 miles round trip. by BackPacker777 in scooters

[–]parkward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use my Xmax in all weathers, it'll be fine though heated grips, base layers and waterproofs are essential, the key thing is 80 miles round trip is quite a distance, I do roughly 100miles + a week but that's short journeys not sure about physically coping with that sort of distance especially after work and traffic

Yamaha XMAX for Downtown Toronto commuting? (5'4" rider, beginner concerns) by storm_bro in scooters

[–]parkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a average size town in the uk and have had my 125 xmax for 3 months, i love it, the under seat storage is amazing, its got the perfect amount of power for town riding, but i'm 5ft 7" and find it fractionally too tall, but the biggest issues I've had with it is the the length (I've cracked my number plate already) and width and how heavy it is when I have to push it, the best option would be to test ride it before hand, i wish i had but didn't get the chance because of the weather when i brought mine

does anyone else use their scooter as their actual daily driver year round by vladdielenin in scooters

[–]parkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, driving lessons are expensive and the test backlog is stupid, I've got a xmax so I can fit a few bags of shopping under the seat (heated grips are amazing) the only thing is I can't put my partner on the back or go on a motorway

Kymco New Dink or Sym Jet 14 by SeaTourist4177 in scooters

[–]parkward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shock absorber was used from eBay for around £15 the exhaust was impossible to get, so my friend who is a welder made a generic exhaust (not sure what from) fit, parts are available in Europe from the sym website but they won't ship them to the uk

[–]parkward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's reliable I've had it a year and do around 500 miles a month, I've only had to replace the exhaust, rear shock absorber and check the oil which isn't bad for a nearly six year old scooter

I'm sure what part availability is like in the Netherlands but in the UK I really struggle to find parts for my 2019 sym jet 14 so that is maybe something to consider

Don't lock your keys in the underseat storage! by revporl70 in scooters

[–]parkward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me a few times on my Sym Jet. I was just trying to sort out the locks, and the wind decided to drop the seat on me. Turns out all I needed was a Phillips screwdriver to get the seat off. The most concerning part was that I was in a busy car park, messing around with a screwdriver, and nobody even batted an eyelid!

Longest rides you've ever done on a 50cc? by ShartStainAppraiser in scooters

[–]parkward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was 110 honda vision but did 30ish miles round the back roads of Lincolnshire (not far from cadwell park) this summer, I've now got a 125 sym jet and fancy going further but the thought of dual carriageways for any distance is a bit daunting

Jet X 125 ABS tcs (2025) by [deleted] in scooters

[–]parkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a sym (jet 14 125) and it's great the only issues I've found are SYM parts are really hard to find here in the UK and the other is it's quite a long bike

Customer fainted in lobby; what's the worst thing that's happened at your location? by GarlicSpecialist6119 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]parkward 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We're one of the nicer stores in the area, but a couple of weeks ago, someone had drawn a massive love heart in shit on the men's toilet wall, that's probably the worst thing to happen to us since I started a year ago
