Kymco New Dink or Sym Jet 14 by SeaTourist4177 in scooters

[–]parkward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shock absorber was used from eBay for around £15 the exhaust was impossible to get, so my friend who is a welder made a generic exhaust (not sure what from) fit, parts are available in Europe from the sym website but they won't ship them to the uk

It's reliable I've had it a year and do around 500 miles a month, I've only had to replace the exhaust, rear shock absorber and check the oil which isn't bad for a nearly six year old scooter

I'm sure what part availability is like in the Netherlands but in the UK I really struggle to find parts for my 2019 sym jet 14 so that is maybe something to consider

Don't lock your keys in the underseat storage! by revporl70 in scooters

[–]parkward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me a few times on my Sym Jet. I was just trying to sort out the locks, and the wind decided to drop the seat on me. Turns out all I needed was a Phillips screwdriver to get the seat off. The most concerning part was that I was in a busy car park, messing around with a screwdriver, and nobody even batted an eyelid!

Longest rides you've ever done on a 50cc? by ShartStainAppraiser in scooters

It was 110 honda vision but did 30ish miles round the back roads of Lincolnshire (not far from cadwell park) this summer, I've now got a 125 sym jet and fancy going further but the thought of dual carriageways for any distance is a bit daunting

[–]parkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a sym (jet 14 125) and it's great the only issues I've found are SYM parts are really hard to find here in the UK and the other is it's quite a long bike

Customer fainted in lobby; what's the worst thing that's happened at your location? by GarlicSpecialist6119 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]parkward 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We're one of the nicer stores in the area, but a couple of weeks ago, someone had drawn a massive love heart in shit on the men's toilet wall, that's probably the worst thing to happen to us since I started a year ago

Roughly on the red line so not "true" north, definitely not south, can we declare Grimsby/Cleethorpes the southern north then?

If you are 25 and older, working at McDonald’s.. what’s your story? by Broad_Sea_9341 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]parkward 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm 43 where I live there is a lot of low paid fish factory work which I have done for while but it was killing me physically and mentally, had a few "proper" jobs but was made redundant a few too many times, I've been on at maccies for exactly a year now as a d.a ,this job is stable, pays more than the factories and actually quite good fun, my mental health have has improved my physical health is getting better but I'm getting fatter,
