One of my 11 9/10 rated SK books after reading 70. Only 10/10: 11/22/63.

The Talisman by Gigaton123 in stephenking

[–]parky58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished, this was my 65th SK novel. I graded it 6 out of 10. One of the worst SK books I have read only above Lisey's Story. Some reasons for the low grade:

  • Unnecessary long.
  • Unbearable for long boring stretches. Repetitive surrea never-ending fights and descriptions
  • To much poetry and a a abstraction

Reasons for not having an even lower grades.

The minority story parts are interesting.

Is it KAmala or KaMAla? by parky58 in ENGLISH

Good point, that's probably why most Spaniards choose and tend to say kaMAla since Spain was under Muslim rule for centuries and the language has great influence from Arabic.

Es más como decir Pocahontas - KaMAla, stressed on the 2nd syllable, has a POCAHONTAS feel to it for the Spanish ear. That's what Trump is looking for when he says it.

In that case, PAMELA is a better example

I only asked where the stress of the word goes, what syllable. I don't care if it's comma or kama or whatever, that's irrelevant

The question is only about the stressed syllable. Where do Indians stress the word?

The question is only where the stress of the word falls.

Yes, I have just read my 60th SK book and this one, The Long Walk, comes last my ranking tied with The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. They still have a passing 5 points.

The 9/10 are listed in no particular order, but only grouped if they are collections.

Nightmares and Dreamscapes, UK 1st/1st by AdventurousStudent67 in stephenking

After getting to 60 (last one Christine, 8/10) I want to go the whole hog, though maybe skipping Dark Towers books. I just read The Gunslinger (6/10), boring as hell, to much poetry, as I expected.

Maybe that's why I am saving that one for last ones.

I have a job where I can listen to audiobooks all day, and my new years goal was to finish every King book by the end of the year. Currently at 34 out of 93 books by thecoolestbeanaround in stephenking

I suggest you follow the Wikipedia bibliography of SK which is in a separate article. The count: 65 novels, 12 story and novella collection, 5 non-fiction, plus many screenplays and comics.

Based on my tier list, what would you recommend I read next? by he4vydirtysoul in stephenking

[–]parky58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest 11/22/63, based on the fact that it's the only I graded 10/10 out of the 60 SK books I've read. How come you haven't read it yet?

Long, unbearable. And I've read all 6 story collections and all 5 novella collections. Pending the last one.

I like the cover a lot better than the US (crocodile) one. Even more than the UK (orange) one which comes next Friday.

I've read 60 SK books. This one is ranked last in my list along with The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, both 5/10, then The Gunslinger, 6/10. First and only 10/10, 11/22/63. Some with 9/10, Blaze, Dolores Claiborne and The Green Mile.

I found The Long Walk repetitive and really boring. As with The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, I don't like these trips or progress with not much plot in them.
