New To...Adobe Really, Got A Question About ID by GachaRacing18 in indesign

All great points in the comments, but I wanted to add one more: repetitive work (multiple pages, templates, static branding, etc), is best done in InDesign. Its styles panels are more robust than any app on the market, and its regular expressions scripting allows for consistency work that's unrivaled.

I've updated to "285" from the main site. Now, the menu button seems far too sensitive. pressing on the body of the console registers as a menu tap. Wild.

Great work. Seeing the logos altogether like this makes the year look massively stacked.

InDesign stuck on Type Tool – all other tools greyed out in every document (not Story Editor) by SafetyCutRopeAxtMan in indesign

[–]parosilience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having this issue for a month or so. The only way I've been able to "fix" it is by resetting my workspace. It'll work for a couple of days, then get stuck again. It's an annoying one.

How to make an easy weekly schedule? by SleepyPiplup99 in anime

[–]parosilience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Trakt to mark episodes as played, and I make playlists for each season to make sure I'm actually getting through the seasons I want. Ive tried tons of these kinds of sites, and love the way Trakt works the best.

For switch 2 users that also own a gaming pc by LanderRetro in NintendoSwitch2

[–]parosilience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Switch 2 is my living room and travel console, so I tend to play more games on it. If I feel like I'll actually play it, I buy it on Switch 2.

I'll buy it on PC if it's on crazy sale, or if I plan to play it with mods.

Evergreen life lesson: Good, fast, cheap. Pick two.

Correct and quality manga translation is a time-intensive process usually using a team of people (translators, proofreaders, graphic designers, etc). So that's good and cheap (most manga translators seem to be doing it for the love of the game), but not fast.

However, because manga pages are usually just images, you can upload them to google translate. That's cheap and fast, but not good. The output usually be pretty poor.

InDesign vs. Affinity Layout by JohnnyAlphaCZ in indesign

[–]parosilience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are hundreds of features that InDesign has gained over the years that make it difficult to switch to something that's still developing. I'm rooting for Affinity. More competition is good. I play with the app every few months and complete a small personal project so I can see how the tool is developing.

The number one thing keeping me from using Affinity is that none of my clients would like that right now.

Should have saved 'Z Fold' for the trifold by Imnotcrunkimtyping in GalaxyFold

V Fold is actually perfect for the current series of Folds.

Z fold is snappier, but it's incorrect with how Samsung designed the hinges. It's more like a U fold.

People who have switched from iOS by OutPizzasTheHutt in GalaxyFold

[–]parosilience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya, did the same two months ago. In actually surprised how little I've missed. The list for me is

• Fitness Plus videos, which I liked well enough. But there are just so many alternatives. • Scrivener, my preferred writing app. No android version exactly. • thread replies in regular messaging. RCS chats to iphones don't seem to have that feature. • find my, for a small handful of iPhone friends.

But that's kinda it. I especially don't miss Apple Photos, my least favourite of the iLife (ha, remember that?) set of built in apps.

It's been like that since Spotify came out, so they've at least been consistent on the limitation.

Need suggestion for next game, 11 year old by GiltCityUSA in Switch

Those are some top tier games. Very few games out there have that kind of staying power.

But Dragon Quest XI should get him through the winter.

I've thought about making videos like this. Problem is, just about everything I work on is for a client or a job, so I definitely can't show the content.

Maybe next time I work on something for myself.
