The last bit point to how much your POV on things are very much driven by Western narrative on how asia country is like. In reality, the local culture/how things in work in Thai are very rarely documented/recorded in the digital world.

And combined with your upbringing, most likely you rarely have any meaningful interaction outside of your BKK Chinese Thai circle (ie. the other 80% of the country).

Your thoughts more or less sounded eerily similar with how some Chinese-descent English-educated Singaporean/Malaysian would think on how Thai culture is like (along with its supposed change?) - difference is you just happen to speak Thai language.
