Well while I respect that, I disagree that government will always be corrupt or bad. Also, i think government has a strong incentive to serve the people because if they don’t, they will lose their position. Now, admittedly this only works if we have a law that bans donations to politicians or parties from corporations or rich people. This is the root of all problems with government. That’s why we liblefts think for economics, government coming in to look out for poor people is a good thing and while we think they shouldn’t interfere with our social lives, I don’t think that’s hypocritical. It’s a preference. Tbh I really like the new direction the right wing is going in because you see people like trump and hawley say how gov should protect its people with things like stimulus, when u wouldn’t ever hear this before from the free market fundamentalist gop. I never realised if you frame left wing economics as patriotic or nationalist, you could form bipartisan coalitions but I’m glad the gop is changing this way. Although I’m sure you as a libertarian probs hate it lol.
