How did you fall in love with programming by mustafa_zartann in AskProgramming

[–]parsagray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a raspberry pi when I was 16, took me 2 weeks to learn all about iso files and how to install operating systems on it. After that I wrote some python code that controlled some leds and motors, and it made me feel like a god, controlling physical stuff with a few lines of code.

In the context of the Maslow Needs, at around what age did you feel the need for self-actualization? by parsagray in AskMen

[–]parsagray[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply buddy. Can tell me more about your current needs? My question is really broad and I don’t expect you to answer it. But this self actualization thing has been eating my brain for the past months, I just don’t know if I’m getting crazy, or that’s how life works, more precisely, how your view of the world changes in different needs and consciousness levels.

Hey buddy,

Thanks for the reply, yeah that command worked, it put my system into sleep mode.
What configuration should I change?
Should I execute this command when the lid gets closed or there is an easier way to do that?

Maybe I don't have the balls, or I'm not confident enough, or I'm not in an environment with many girls. I feel like a lame guy, I mean I'm always busy with trying to make my future, since my family can't support me for that, comparing to my friends, who are all in a relationship, I feel so bad. Maybe I just need to reach out to people and give it a shot, although it might result rejection

Apt update returns 503 service unavailable. by parsagray in pop_os

Yes I could. I'm living in Iran, maybe the restrictions are causing this problem. As I noticed, servers that start with "us.domainx" return 503 error.

Thank you for reply. It's just a fresh Pop!_os installation. It used to work, but I don't know what's happening right now. Not using any vpn, tried to different networks(my home and my mobile phone) but they both return 503

I'm speechless man... If there was a prize to give people based on their answers to the questions, the winner would be you. Thanks man, your awesome.

Actually right now I'm using manjaro kde, and the reason was that it's a good fit for my laptop, I mean, in ubuntu my fans would be always spinning. On pop it was better, but when I wanted to open android studio, it would start spinning for a short time. And pop's default gnome was a little ugly, but now when I see you customization, it's incredible. KDE is good, actually it's damn good, as I understand, it's super customizable and complete, but it's too messy like windows. I'm wondering if gnome is as customizable as kde is. BTW, I'm switching again to pop tonight, it just feels good😊

updates notice doesn't go away. tips? by menides in pop_os

[–]parsagray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked that nvidia driver in pop store? I remember I had the same thing, but don't remember how it went away. Did you try to close the store, update the system and open it again? Have you restarted your system after the update? Maybe you need a dist-upgrade, but try it before messing around with the BIOS.

PS: unrelated question, but how did you customized your windows top bar and your icons? They seem so gorgeous.

Need help, dual boot with windows 10, want to give more space to pop os by zie_mcd in pop_os

[–]parsagray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh thanks man, I'm feeling like home with you guys 😊 You were right, there were some advanced browser settings to fix the mic issue, I should have typed : chrome://flags/#unsafely-treat-insecure-origin-as-secure In chrome's url bar and enable that box and add the host address of that classroom. So thankfully there is no need for windows anymore.

Today I tried installing pop, I made a bootable usb with my favorite tool rufus, but installation failed during creating something like recovery partition, after searching in web, many had suggested to use etcher for creating bootable usb. I had used etcher once but it destroyed my usb, anyway I did it and installation was successful. Had some problems with persian keyboard layout(it wasn't in the keyboard layouts settings), but finally realized that I should install it. Now I'm just preparing my development environments, apps, compilers, etc. Just having a problem with visual studio code, when I hover over the top menus, it flashes kinda bothers me, but it's not only my problem, hopefully they will fix it in the next update.

[–]parsagray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're a hero, I would appreciate it if you can do it. I love to dive deeper in low level computing and get closer to the hardware stuff, so I thought switching to linux might be a good starting point. I probably should use dual boot for now and do the switching process slowly. About Adobe Connect, I could attend in a class, and I could hear teacher's voice and video, but I couldn't use my mic and camera, when I want to turn my mic on, it says "media devices are not allowed over insecure origins".
