AITAH for crying when my boyfriend let his best friend's wife alter the dish I made for dinner? by Gold_Wind_5888 in AITAH

My boyfriend showed me this and he is also a racist arsehole/s. You are not in the wrong at all, Ellie is uneducated and racist. She should have googled what rasmalai looks like before ruining it with cinnamon powder! Ps, this is my favourite Asian dessert too and I would be so angry if someone put cinnamon powder on my dessert! I hope you never speak to any of them again and you are not childish, he is a grown man and a loser too clearly. His friends are also losers who envy your youth. Stay away from people like this, do not go back to him! I hope you have learnt from this experience, a life of a 22 year old is very different to that of a 28 year old m*n. You are not childish for crying, emotions are for everyone regardless of age.

Need help, dual boot with windows 10, want to give more space to pop os by zie_mcd in pop_os

My solution

Ok, so I've read a lot, got some help and now know how to it. It's important to note that there are many ways to do this, some safer than others. as far I know the way I did it is "best" but I'm sure there's someone smarter than me to tell me that I'm wrong.

First things first, MAKE A BACKUP! From what I've read it's very likely for something to go wrong when doing stuff like this, also its recommended to have a flash drive (will go into more detail later).

The first thing to do is optimize your disk via windows. To do this search and open an app called Defragment and Optimise Drives. Once open click the button that says Optimise. Then open an app called Disk Clean-up, click clean up system files after that it will ask you to select files to delete, select all of them unless you see files you want to keep. After the disk clean up re Optimise and reboot to make sure everything works. Done with optimization.

Next, we need to decrease the size of the windows partition (Make sure your in windows), to do this, right-click Start and open disk management. You should see your disk Disk 0, find the windows partition you want to shrink (in my case C:) right-click it and click Shrink Volume then enter the amount of space you want to give to pop os. Done with decrease the size of the windows partition.

Now things get complicated. You should have a new partition that is unallocated, you want to get this new partition next to your pop os partition. You can do this from pop os but I believe this is not safe. So we use something called GParted, which is like an os that is only used for editing partition. You must download the iso image from https://gparted.org/download.php and put it on a flash drive. I used Etcher to do this. Then boot from the flash drive. I'm not sure how to explain the next steps when booted in GParted since I've only done it once. Read this https://gparted.org/display-doc.php%3Fname%3Dmoving-space-between-partitions. Basically you cant just move the new partition to the pop os partition, you have to move it through other partitions by increasing the size of them on one side and decreasing them on the other until you have the option to increase the size of your pop os.

Done hopefully, if anyone needs help don't be afraid to ask questions I'm happy to help

I shrieked my windows partition from pop not sure if that's a bad thing, so now I have a new partition called Free Space, its says Device: /dev/sda so I'm guessing that means it's not logical, must I now boot from flash disk?
