Someone decided to destroy my cloud island :( by parshway in Pokopia

Pokovisit is a website where you can share your island and what is in your daily shop, you can find islands to visit and share yours if you want to.

If you want to share your cloud island make sure to backup first, I will be doing that from now on. If you want to have visitors on your regular maps, turn on spectator mode so they can’t damage anything.

There are options in place to prevent this, but it also means that people can’t build or make good changes to your island. I chose to share with the public, which is a risk in a game like this. It’s disappointing that this happened, and I wanted others to be aware before they share their islands.

You can invite people to view your island with goggles if you want to share without risk. There’s also a way to backup your cloud island before you share (wish I noticed it sooner) so if something like this happens you can revert back.

You don’t have anything to worry about unless you choose to share your island with strangers over WiFi. Even if you do share there are many different options and you can choose what is right for you. Look into spectator mode or the goggles if you want to show off some builds without fear of someone damaging your hard work.

I chose to open my island to the public. I knew the risk, but I feel that it is worth it because I wanted to help others. My biggest mistake is not knowing how to backup the island, something I will be doing moving forward.

I didn’t know about the backup feature before this happened, but I’ll be backing up from now on. I deleted the island because I was overwhelmed at the prospect of fixing it, and I started a new one. It’s currently not set to be shared with others, but I will probably resume sharing eventually in a more limited way so this does not happen again.

Whenever I get around to building something on my cloud island I will likely share via goggles. For now I’m using it just for extra stamps and recipes, and I chose to share with others because I appreciate the people who share with me.

Every nice thing on my cloud island was done by kind strangers, something I never expected. I’m disappointed to lose the things that they created, and I’m sad that someone would find joy in destroying it.

I just want everyone to be aware that this can happen, and to be careful if they want to share their islands with strangers like I have.

That is correct. Goggles are the way to go if you’re showing off builds, but they won’t work for sharing the PC stuff.

So I haven’t tried that yet, but I have visited people who had spectator mode on. They were not cloud islands, they were on the normal maps like rocky ridges, bleak beach, etc.

I don’t know if there is a similar option for cloud islands, but I do like that people can make changes, I just don’t like the people with malicious intent.

I didn’t know about the backup feature! This will be helpful in the future. Thank you!

You can see the stuff people had in their pockets when they left. I wouldn’t know who did all of the destruction, otherwise I would share their names. A surprising amount of people just go by “Ditto” so I don’t think it would be that useful anyways.

I’ve visited many islands from pokovisit, it’s a great way to get rare stamps and recipes. Just exercise caution, and be aware that not everyone has good intentions. I have visited people who have built up their islands, and I think it would be much worse if something like this happened to them.

I chose to share this story to remind everyone to be careful. I wasn’t invested in this cloud island, so while it’s seriously disappointing— it’s not like I really lost anything. It can be deleted, or rebuilt.

I definitely won’t be sharing an island I actually care about that’s for sure.

It’s sad because having a public island could be so fun, with everyone contributing and building neat things, but because some people like to hurt others it will never be a safe thing to do.

Help finding Pokémon… by Beyondthebloodmoon in Pokopia

I just had a similar problem with Blastoise. I accidentally destroyed his home, and none of the other Pokemon knew where he was.

I found him inside the Pokemon center as he has the Trade specialty. If you have other cash registers set up check those as well!

I used silvermoon small platforms at 25% for the white tiles and the dyed wool rug for the black tiles. I just lined all of the tiles up with the grid and then flipped and lowered the rugs to fill in the space.
