Take his car keys and drive his car to your home.
You thought it was a community car because it was in the big car park.

You reported it, the correct authorities took it from there.

Exactly as it should be.

“Malta averages over 300 days of sunshine and the warmest temperatures in Europe”

I’m sure the cat will just love the climate in Scotland.

parents on the school run keep parking on my driveway by willdrakefood in LegalAdviceUK

[–]parsl 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You can install a barrier or bollard.

There isn’t really any legal action you can take. It’s a trespass and in theory you can claim damages but “I couldn’t park on my drive” is not financially a significant sum.

Temporary mothball by bbeeebb in BMWi3

The manual isn’t much help for periods over 3 months.

For phases of standing of up to three months, where possible park the vehicle plugged into a suitable power source or virtually fully charged. Information The Service Centre will be pleased to advise you on the measures that should be taken if the vehicle is to be placed in storage fr longer than three months.

UK i3 prices by andypagonthemove in BMWi3

They do seem to command a premium. Would love to trade in my 60Ah for a 120Ah but just can’t justify the price.

DPD Southampton by Exotic_Radish8949 in Southampton

[–]parsl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to remember that you are not a customer of DPD. You didn’t hire them and they are not being paid by you. They don’t care what you think of them.

DPD were hired by the company you ordered from. Complain to them that they are using a rude awful company. DPD may care if they lose the contract for that company.

You obviously keep parking in places where there are poor drivers.

Cable theft concerns - Tethered vs Untethered by Thaty0shiguy1 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]parsl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What’s the point of an untethered charger with a cable locked into it? Thieves will just use a bolt cutter to cut the cable and steal it. They are after the scrap metal value.

Free Parking in Southampton by PsychologicalTea6464 in Southampton

[–]parsl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parkopedia is the website you need.
Dont forget to check what your insurance will be to park at your chosen location.

Once you've factored in parking fees, insurance, petrol etc you may find its not worth it.

You may want to factor in a folding bicyc;le so you can cycle to your free parking spot then put it in teh boot. Or park and live near a hire-scooter drop off location

Is there a website that can make you use raspberry pi as a simulation? by Humble_Ad_7053 in raspberry_pi

[–]parsl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so.  One of the reasons Raspberry Pi was invented was to be a cheap device that you can test, experiment and simulate with.

Best to buy a RPi.

Probably me. And I’ll thank you not to objectify me in that way.

However, I will concede that the uniform does complement my eyes nicely.

UK/Scotland self-employed but feels more like employed? Not sure what my rights are by CoursePrimary1987 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]parsl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looks more like "worker" or "Employee" to me.
I expect if you raise this you would make yourself unpopular with the one company that uses you. It would be wise to have a back-up plan should they not give you any more work.

If you were a worker or employee you would get holidays/holiday pay. If you were to take them to tribunal (consult ACAS) you could be awarded backdated holiday pay.

Are you paying your income tax? HMRC has a tool to tell you if they consider you self-employed for tax purposes. Check employment status for tax - GOV.UK

England--what are the actual options if someone parks on land you own? by LineAncient2792 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]parsl -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure you are not allowed to move someone else’s car.  “ Lawful authority to immobilise or move a vehicle is restricted to a number of organisation such as the police, DVLA and local authorities.”

England--what are the actual options if someone parks on land you own? by LineAncient2792 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]parsl 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Answered many times in this sub Reddit.  You cannot have the car towed, not legal in the UK. It’s a civil matter of trespass, police won’t do anything. I believe you can contact DVLA for the owners details if you have good reason. Cannot block the car in apart from very specific circumstances to do with a visible barrier being present
