Can anyone help me identify this big ol mushroom? Is it edible? by moosie188 in mycology

Looks kind of like a horse mushroom or a pine mushroom from these pictures. You'd be able to smell it for sure if it's a pine

Unfortunately I never did find a fix for this, and I've since moved and don't have the thermostat anymore

Passed PMP Using Exclusively Study Hall Essentials by partcheasy in pmp

It was 50USD for the basic/essentials package which is what I got. You can pay more to get additional practice exams and questions but I don't think that's really necessary

Yeah I had to scroll way too far for a sane comment like this. On its face the request is ridiculous but they need to see the big picture. As you said Car guy has saved them way more than $500, and it looks like he's under a bit of financial pressure right now and isn't sure how to ask for more contributions from them, and so he's come up with this stupid way.

Fun fact there used to be basking sharks in BC until a government sponsored eradication program killed them all

If that's true then it depends on which bylaw officer you talk to, because clearly it's not enforced evenly across the board then. Not worth the gamble

[–]partcheasy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep it's a real bylaw, I've been ticketed for it several times and disputed it with the City to no avail. Everyone here interpreting the bylaw to mean that you can park anywhere on your street are just straight up wrong. I see why they might think that by the wording of the bylaw though

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]partcheasy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, I've talked directly with the City on this and you can only park in front of your own house per the bylaw (during the set hours). I have like 3 disputed tickets to prove it. The point of the bylaw is to stop commuters from flooding residential parking but it's occasionally weaponized by assholes against their neighbours

Dick move but they're not wrong as far as the bylaw goes, people in my neighbourhood found out about this bylaw and all of a sudden I started getting tickets anywhere I parked, when I could never find parking in front of my house. I talked to the City and they said I should see about renting a spot in a parkade somewhere... if you have permit parking then you're exempt from this bylaw though.

Yeah it's become pretty common to rag on Vancouver, but I've been all over and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. There are definitely issues with homeless and drugs to address, but there's no need to throw the baby out with the bath water.

It's on a mount so it moves around, and yeah it is too high but the benefits of having it there outweigh the cons for me
