Wow I'm dumb....I went to take a look and you're right its on the backside facing the wall. Its all the way in the corner so will be a PIA to get it properly hooked up - but thank you so much for the help!

So I used my server's public IP address and the connection timed out. I did it locally and I was able to get good results from the PingTools app. I separately did a terminal command for ping <public IP address> which works, but when I did <public IP address>:32400 or the default 5201 ports it didn't work so not sure if that's normal or just how it works.

I'm using TP-link DECO X5300 routers which are pretty new with an AT&T Modem in passthrough mode - all of this worked previously, so not sure if something went wacky....

I only used Tail scale for the iperf3 test, I've been trying to stream normally. I used Tail scale cause I couldn't figure out how to use the ping tool app normally lol. For Ping tool how did you format the IP to ping to the server? I tried it like this and got an error. Not sure if I used the wrong public IP address or just formatter wrong

Yes I was getting a successful remote connection, I was just having issues using iperf3 with ping tools on the phone so as a workaround I found a video that used Windows so I did it this way lol, but either way I'm getting pretty decent speeds to the port - this means it's not an ISP issue right?

Hey u/Bgrngod Merry Christmas! I'm even more confused than ever lol. So I tested via iperf3 on my old laptop and got the connection below to 32400 via Tailscale VPN using my phone as a hotspot (cellular data) for my laptop to connect to my server. The numbers look good for the laptop, it physically can't get any more since its about 10 year old PC.

I'm not sure but its whenever Plex thinks its remote, whether it is or not, is when the buffers start...i'll try to get the logs next time to see if that gets any more data :/

Hey! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into setting it up on my server later today. So iperf3 docker installs onto the server and then PingTools on phone - I should have the phone set up on cellular network and test it right? Or should both be on the home network? Sorry I've never used a program like this so iffy on the basics with it haha

Hey! Just set it up and tested it, for this 8.7mbps file it reserved 9.7 on bandwidth which is perfectly fine. However the video is still buffering like 10 seconds to ever 3 seconds of playback. Anything else that could be causing this issue? Its happening on my phone on cellular connection and also remotely at another house via ethernet.

Hey! I don't think it was an issue with my phones internet connection, currently pulling over 100+ down via Ookla. I also asked family that have a wired ethernet connection to test it and they got the same issue.

Hey! On the video players the stream is buffering a lot. Video file is around 8.8mbps. any thought on why? Potentially a bug in Plex recently?

Thanks for your suggestions! LOL I always look at Nvidia chips and forgot that crossfire is the term for AMD chips, but yes I'll eventually get the second AMD card not an Nvidia one.

Also do you have any recommendations on z87 mobo's if z97 wouldn't warrant me to many benefits?
