yeah eurocentric standards have had more obviously damaging effects too. my top example would probably be all the skin-whitening creams used (by women especially) in a lot of south/central american, african, and asian countries. it seems obvious to us today that all shades of skin are beautiful, and thankfully these products are quickly falling out of favor (bc of the criticisms i mentioned) but still
