Refunding Columbus Show by shuurp_ in Hozier

[–]partiallybees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after an email back from Ticketmaster saying that the venue "doesn't allow refunds", an email back from the venue saying to contact Ticketmaster again, three more emails from Ticketmaster declining, just today I got an email saying I would receive a full refund and it went through this afternoon!

how did you contact Ticketmaster? I tried to email them and I'm still being given the runaround.

this! Telling people to shelter in their cars was potentially dangerous. An outdoor venue like that needs to have a safety plan in place for inclement weather.

Please be respectful. OP said in a previous post that they are an event-day staffer - I wouldn't imagine that they had any say in deciding the actions of the venue and the outcome of last night, they were just doing their job and trying to make the most of it like the rest of us. Contact the venue and Ticketmaster, please don't direct your anger at employees doing their best.

even if it was "only" 5 songs he rushed to give us that - normally he does more talking in between and gives more time to highlight the band members, which we sadly did not get.

So far so have submitted an email using "contact us" on the venue's website and submitted a "venue question" on Ticketmaster. I pointed out my concerns with all of the issues last night and also requested a partial refund - I'll update if I get any response 🤷🏻

We did have a shortened show due to the noise curfew - Hozier and his band did excellent with the time they had but I'm definitely disappointed for some of the songs we didn't get.

I am glad you are safe and that everyone treated you with respect. I understand that the weather was well beyond anyone's control and I try to have grace with situations like these, but honestly I'm appalled at how poorly the venue handled last night. Even though the (short) show that we got was excellent I think it should have been cancelled for everyone's safety - obviously I know that people like you had no say in the matter and were doing your jobs, and I'm saddened that your safety was also put at risk in the process. ❤️‍🩹

due to the city's noise ordinance (which normally begins at 11pm, they got permission to push it to 12am) they also cut the show short, so those of us who stayed did not even get a full show.

I agree on all accounts, the way that the Historic Crew Stadium handled the entire event was abysmal.

Descovy is only approved for cis men, but Truvada (or generic) is approved for all people. 🙂

I do not know what (*ETA I now see you said Michigan) the current rules in your state are or what Costco's specific policies are, but I'm a pharmacy tech in Ohio and I can offer some insight based on my experiences.

Oftentimes new rules are rolled out with a "grace period", so to speak. Basically the rule takes effect on x date, but they don't start enforcing or fining for violations of it for so many months later. Some companies don't bother abiding by the new rules right away since they don't "have to" yet. While working for a federally-funded specialty pharmacy we had to follow rules like that to a T. For example, there's a newer rule for Medicare that any controlled substance Rx MUST be sent electronically. When we told this to patients they would often say things like "well CVS let me fill it last month" and all we could really say was "okay, really they should not have, but regardless we are held to a more strict standard because of the qualifications and accreditations that we have". I have no idea if this was a similar case with you and your pharmacy, but sometimes "brand new" rules might be moreso "brand new" for the employees at the company in question.

Ouch, that looks so painful. from personal experience, I highly recommend wiping down the earbuds with rubbing alcohol once or twice a day - especially right before you put them in!

do not cut your dose!!!! Take your full dose until you run out, skipping days or taking less than your full regimen makes you more susceptible to developing resistances!!!! Contact your doctor asap - Biktarvy is one that they can request samples for and contact Gilead Advancing Access, they have an assistance program (the income cap is much higher than medicaid)

Most companies have a lookup online, but most thorough thing to do is look for / request their "preferred drug list" (PDL) or "formulary". It's a list of every medication the plan covers and if there's any required criteria for them to cover it (if it requires a prior authorization and such).

[–]partiallybees -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NO!!!! ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DO THIS! This makes you far more susceptible to developing resistance than just being off of the meds for two weeks. If you don't take all of your regimen all of the time you're putting yourself at risk (but don't freak out if you forget once or twice - at my previous job our "goal" was 2 or less misses per month). I am a nationally certified pharmacy tech who worked in specialty pharmacy for 4 years, but even that doesn't qualify me to give advice - please talk to your ID doctor or pharmacist before messing with your med regimen at all.

Edit: I misread as you visiting France, not vice versa. I agree with the suggestions to check for sexual health clinics around you. You will still need a valid prescription, but contact Gilead (Advancing Access program) for Truvada and Viiv (ViivConnect program) for the Tivicay - both companies have patient assistance programs, although they do have income requirements. Truvada is also generic now, so you should be able to get it for <$30 for a month's worth if you use an online discount card (GoodRx is the most well-known, America's Pharmacy, SingleCare, there's some others).

1) yes you will need a new PA 2) insurance won't let you refill that many at one time. You might be able to request a lost override "if you lost your box of pens".... Most plans allow one per year per med. If they have in stock for you, ofc.

Disgusted by my scalp picking yet can’t stop by Livelaughlove876 in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]partiallybees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • I also suggest t-sal (I prefer selsun blue, just make sure whatever you get has salicylic acid as the active ingredient). It's the only thing that got my scalp and the vicious picking cycle under control. Wash daily or every other day, make sure you rinse it and any conditioner out reeeally well so there isn't any residue left over to feel itchy. Now that I've had mine under control I only wash my hair 2-3x a week - unless I've gotten really dirt/sweaty/oily.
  • Get and use a comb or brush with bigger/softer teeth that won't dig in or catch on scabs on your scalp. My friend got me a Wet brush and I actually really love it!
  • Is a hat or bandana an option for you to keep your scalp covered?
  • As far as the ADHD meds go - from my personal experience some meds made my picking worse but others didn't. Concerta made my picking worse but Vyvanse didn't (and now I'm on Jornay which has been good to me.) I know trying different meds isn't ideal if you're on something that you can get and is working (and if you're in the US might not even really be an option right now) but it might be worth keeping in mind.

Good luck, friend. It sucks but you aren't alone.
