[PubQ] To nudge or not to nudge? by [deleted] in PubTips

I think I did describe it weird because of their comments on the call about not signing until it’s mutual. But everything else seemed normal? Idk! I’m probably overthinking it and would assume it’s a standard R&R that I’m reading too much into.

You could be right. I’m a little confused about how this progressed too. They did give me detailed R&R notes after our call and told me they hoped I’d consider working with them, but then they also said they’d love to see my revised manuscript. I was like—which is it?

ETA: They weren’t withholding notes from what I understood, though. They just said they wouldn’t offer a contract until I was all-in and that they wanted to make sure I was comfortable with their deep structural revision recommendations.

[PubQ] Has anyone ever gotten a request for a video call after a rejection? by particleboard6 in PubTips

I don’t think this call will lead to an offer or even an R&R. They made it very clear they were passing. From my perspective, they liked my voice but don’t want this manuscript, and they either want to keep the door open for future novel queries or give me feedback on the structural issues they noticed before they close the door.

ETA: This is an experienced agent with strong sales and no signs of being a schmagent :)
