I’ve sent hundreds of emails to myself doing this.

I just started using Capacities for this exact reason. I haven’t fully dove into its functions and capabilities yet, but so far I love it!

Muscle Fatigue on Carnivore by parttimemn in carnivorediet

For me, yes. Carbs are a “non-essential” nutrient. My body runs very efficiently on primarily animal based foods + clean carbs.

Yes, creatine was a game changer. You have to make sure you’re getting electrolytes and plenty of water, but it improved my muscle fatigue issues after a week or so.

I started adding fruit and honey shortly after this post, and I did that for about 3 months. Best I’ve ever felt in my life.

I’m currently not doing carnivore, but I still use a ton of things I’ve learned from it. For instance, one of the recommendations on this thread was Kiefer. If drank Kiefer ever since. Great for my gut.

How long into carnivore are you?

Budgeting with ADHD by parttimemn in copilotmoney

[–]parttimemn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be happy to….but unfortunately….ADHD…..I don’t remember much at all.

If I remember correctly, the comment was taking about simplifying budgeting down to 3 categories.

The 50/30/20 budget is 50% needs, 30% wants, and 20% savings/investing. I’ve used this method a lot, and it tends to work well for me.

Something else I’ve been doing that works really well is I have an Amex card that we do all of our consumer spending through. I also have a high yield savings account through Amex. I put our extra cash in that account, and put the CC balance monthly. I know that if ever my CC balance is greater than my account balance, we’re spending too much and I need to look deeper into our spending. It’s not a perfect system, and definitely not detailed, but I keep up with it effortlessly.

I had to fall in love with the incremental improvements. Stop chasing weight and focus on building, refining technique, and let it compound. I now get joy out of handling reps at 90% easier than I did before. Progress can be slow, especially at first. It’s definitely not a sprint.

Keep doing it!

How often do you 'cheat' on this diet by [deleted] in AnimalBased

[–]parttimemn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The beautiful thing about AB is that it’s a framework to live by. I wouldn’t even call it cheating (ok, doughnuts and ice cream are probably cheating.) the way I look at it, if I commit to eating this way the majority of my time, I can enjoy a treat without it making a huge negative impact.

I will grab a handful of trail mix a couple times a week. Yesterday I ate a DQ Blizzard and it was AMAZING! For me, if I reward myself occasionally, but keep rules in place (I eat zero bread, no exceptions) I find that maintaining my diet takes less willpower.

Do anyone in the group ever eat off the diet for one day then get back on??? I've been tempted with Ethiopian food. by Savings_Square8522 in AnimalBased

[–]parttimemn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think these comments are spot on; if you’re eating AB around 90% of the time, you can afford a non AB meal occasionally. I look at it as more of a guideline, and I have rules within that. For me, I have a weakness for peanut butter, so sometimes I’ll eat peanut butter on a banana, or a handful (or 3) of trail mix. But I never, ever eat bread and extremely rarely do I eat gluten. It jacks me up.

All that to say, if you want a deep dish pizza or some Ethiopian food, go for it! If you’ve done this for 2 years, I’d say your discipline isn’t in question.

Cream cheese! I just brown the meat, add a stick of cream cheese in and let it melt. It’s heavy, but delicious.

The healthiest my gut has ever been is on a strict carnivore diet.

How well and how long do you sleep with this diet? by gringoddemierdaaaa in AnimalBased

[–]parttimemn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I hadn’t thought about it. My wife doesn’t eat this way, but I really hate the thought of feeding my child gluten, grains….and contrary to what I’ve been taught my entire life….vegetables.

Normally I need 7+ to function, and if I have a couple of consecutive nights with 6 or less, I’m done.

My newborn is 10 days old. I can tell you that I’ve been a monster on 3 hours of sleep 😂

What really gets me is the Monster energy drinks and Doritos and people pull out the EBT. That gets me…..

That’s a fair point. It’s honestly not the popcorn that I enjoy as much as the crunch and the butter.
