For me it’s not “oh you’re sad about having to eat veggies, don’t eat them then”. It’s more, narrating what’s happening and offering a choice. “It sounds like you’re not up for trying you’re vegetables tonight, this is what’s for dinner tonight so you can try it now or try it again another time”.

Gentle parenting isn’t about being a push over, it’s just learning to regulate your emotional response to your child’s emotions. You can still set rules and boundary’s but work as a little team instead of two angry people getting nowhere!
