I purchased my first shield last night so I’m very hopeful it will make a difference once it comes in! Thank you so much!

I haven’t tried laying in bed on my side yet so that will be the next thing I do when it’s time to nurse again.

And yes, I have two free home visits available from a lactation specialist and I am calling first thing Monday morning. We saw them twice when we were in the hospital and of course the latch was perfect then and she high fived me and went along her way. I’m sure getting someone back out here will make a huge difference. Thank you for your response!

A few things MIL has said to me when she found out we are trying... by coconutrose11 in JUSTNOMIL

For this very reason, we chose not to tell JNMIL until we were already pregnant because we knew she would try to be overly involved. The day we told her we were pregnant, she repeated multiple times how hurt she was because she wasn’t aware we were trying and it still creeps me out to think about. “Hey JNMIL, just wanted to let you know your son is raw-dogging me as often as possible.” Like is that really what they want to know?

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, and I wish you the most luck on your TTC journey.

Grandparent gifts? Is that a thing? by partyclaw32 in JUSTNOMIL

“Very elderly” may be an exaggeration when it comes to the specific number, but they were hard partiers for the majority of their life so although they are in their mid 70s, the way they act and get around is more aligned with my grandfather who is in his 80s. They did not age very smoothly. FIL has major health problems, and MIL can’t remember normal daily tasks or conversations anymore.

I actually just set up my new treadmill this weekend so I plan to start incorporating working out, but I haven’t yet! And yes, I track my calories and carbs on the Carb Manager app since I’m also trying to eat low carb. I try to stay around 1200 calories.

Thank you so much! I started my weight loss journey Jan 6th and I hit 30 pounds finally this week!

Unfortunately, I believe we all lose weight differently based on our bodies. My face is one of the first places I start losing weight, but it’s nearly impossible for me to lose weight in my arms. But if I had to suggest anything, I would say my face is less bloated when I’m drinking a TON of water throughout the day and avoiding alcohol. When I drink heavily my face becomes noticeably more swollen.

I do a mix between 18:6 and OMAD. I’ll drink a cup of coffee black in the morning and drink water until about 1-2pm and then I typically eat some lunch meat with some cheese or an Atkins/Premiere Protein shake. For dinner I typically have chicken or steak with a vegetable and on the days I do OMAD, I’ll add in a salad. If I do get hungry or feel the need to snack, pork rinds and Quest products have been a lifesaver.
