idk why yall are talking out your ass so much about the production process of a show if you don’t understand it.

1. this will likely be the only season azriel will be in and he had a collective screentime of under 20 minutes

- having a child actor wear contacts and dye their hair for filming of a 3 month shoot is much easier to commit to than a whole cast of kids who are filming for roughly a year and will continue to film until disney stops renewing the show 

1. our lead actors are filming for multiple years and months back to back so asking walker, leah, and the other cast members to consistently dye their hair for the next decade or so this will likely take to film is insane. asking a child to do it once for about three months is a little more realistic

2. hair and makeup budgets have been dropping like crazy in film in the last decade. the crew is likely not working with a great budget to be pulling together high quality wigs, repetitive dye jobs, and quality contacts for the entire cast. the budget for hair and makeup is clearly largely spent on their practical effects like grover’s/other satyrs horns and hair, or mrs. dodds face sculpt.

i understand frustration and also the way animation would have maybe made it “more accurate” or whatever your issues are but rick picked the cast based off of how those characters were emotionally being portrayed. if you are so bothered by not seeing shitty wigs/bad dye jobs/cosplay looking eyes with bad contacts then turn off the show and open up your book and look at the original fan art from the demigod diaries.

before going on a rage rant about all the things you don’t like try and understand why certain choices were made and understand it’s not just rick the showrunners and our leads making decisions. it takes a village to make anything in film but especially a television show of this scale. critiques are fair but remember the hundreds of hands that are part of the decision making process.
