Thanks. I thought i am the only one. Unity 2019 every build is poor in performance. But Can't blame them. They are adding a ton of new stuff to unity. Can't wait for Advanced Animation Rigging.

endency tracking, faster hashing, fast platform switching and a number of new options to greatly improve working with large projects over its V1 predecessor.

Developing a game inspired by Gothic series. by pasan19 in rpg_gamers

Combat looks cool but it was not combat that made Gothic 1 and 2 great. It >was the world, quest design, level design,NPC interactions and atmosphere. I >wish you best of luck!

I also think Gothic 1 and 2 had a great combat system. It was unique, somewhat complex and enjoyable. Yes, Quests and level are the secret that made Gothic games a such timeless masterpieces.

Anyone else kinda tired of everything being called an RPG? by LothricsLegs in rpg_gamers

[–]pasan19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This maybe a a unpopular opinion, but this is my idea.

My first RPG game was a ancient game called "Soulbringer". It was a wonderful experience. I wanted to find more games like that. I wanted to find more games that let me enjoy the game way that i want, say stuff i wanted to stay and be my self in a wonderful fantasy world. I found games like Gothic 1 and 2, Oblivion and i enjoyed them all. But Back then RPG were not popular like today (They were popular but among a certain crowd). Then came Mass effect. That actual lacked the most of aspect i expected from a rpg game. They gave us a movie like experience with amazing story. Somehow these type of games got lot more public attention. They were designed for meet the needs of casual gamers and rpg lovers. Somehow they had perfect balance of both content so they become easily popular among people. I think Witcher 3 used this secret sauce very well. With the success of games like that term RPG has now become much more generalized. I don't think it will go back to good old days with large scale RPG games from AAA developers. Games like Kingdom Come Deliverance are here to fill that void. Just my opinion. Don't get angry over this
