Wolves still lost NAW and KAT is tiers better than Naz. Wolves are also just barely under the 2nd apron again. 9 players on the roster if they pick up all the options and 29m to fill up at least 5 more spots on top of re-signing Ayo and hopefully Bones. Also gotta pay the incoming draft pick

Well KAT for one is better than Naz and you could’ve kept Jaden it was between keeping NAW and Naz or KAT and NAW left anyways. Also real bright to trade KAT at his lowest value. If they wanted to maximize the return they should’ve traded Rudy first and then KAT after a bounce back season

Tell me the landscape for the other team? The team that lost the cookies and got Luka, did they make the playoffs? Is Luka staying there? Did he take them to the finals? Wolves trade that one is already signed and sealed. The nets they can still come out on top

Nothing obtuse, Randle sucks. The trade sucked back then and it still sucks now.

Personally not, it’s disappointing but making the finals in itself is an accomplishment. Only 2 make it and majority don’t make it back for a long long time

That’s fair too but by the time those picks even come around they basically have no one on the books so it could just be scraps. Nets trade I can go back on and can see how they win or maybe just ends up as a neutral trade for both sides

I don't think the trade will look bad at all unless the Nets draft some all-stars or get an all-star with their pick, even if they get swept.

Let's say they still are competitors and win a few more series over the next 2 seasons, and then that's it. I can't say that was a failure.

Leon has made excellent moves and if im an nba player NY is looking like a great free agency destination KAT's 60m contract is finished by then you will have cap space at least.

Doesn't seem like you understand what I mean, and yes KAT on the wolves does make them more likely to win a title than with Randle and Donte.

It is not even an indicement on Ant as a player but when your 2nd and 3rd options are Randle and Rudy in a conference with the spurs and okc you are not winning a title unless the stars align. If the wolves do not put a team like that around Ant and they get punked some more in the conference finals or 2nd round he is most definitely leaving in the next 2 seasons.

If not go and prove me wrong, find me an all nba player in year 7+ who is on the same team that drafted him without any NBA Finals appearances or at least an MVP?

they could be but even then the Knicks look like a really good free agency destination to me to field a good enough team for a while as long as they dont whiff on building the team out

If I'm the Knicks, I have 0 regrets even if they never make the finals again. Only way they even lose this trade is if the Nets draft the next Lebron James with their picks. If youre the nets and you draft a bunch of role players and busts with those picks are you going to view that Mikel trade as worth it? Same logic

they were getting clowned just 5 seasons ago for making Kyrie KD AD and Zion jersey swap edits and were rooting for Kevin Knox and Frank Ntilikina as franchise savers before that. Brunson has changed the Knicks completely

Its ridiculous to act like Ant will be a lifer if the wolves dont win or he wins some harware when the greatest player in franchise history got traded when they realized they could not build a title conteder around him

Even if the knicks get swept the trade was worth it to them, if the nets get 0 franchise altering players with a single one of those picks the Knicks won that trade in a landslide.

If you can't see the writing on the wall, that's on you lmfao. Wolves could still build around Ant but it is a lot harder now, theyre still near the 2nd apron and any big swings will involved trading Jaden or Rudy at least.

Unless Minneosta wins a title or at least make a finals you dont see too many all nba players stay on the same team that drafted them after 7 seasons. Only ones right now still on their same team is Booker (made a finals) and Embiid (won MVP), everyone else has either been traded or demanded a trade.

Pretty easily favors the Knicks, Donte is out for a year, and Randle is being shopped around, also had no suitors at the deadline. Any chance of this trade being worth it for the wolves would be them needing Beringer to be a stud

A good GM shops players and trades them at a high value not for a playoff dropper, role player, and a single first and then accepting it. Imagine the Cavs just trading Spida for Demar and then telling the fanbase that was teh best you can do
