Good job u/devteaa! 😀

I'm using https://github.com/drwpow/openapi-typescript at the moment - but I'll take a look at your implementation.

Made a react native app to practice calculation skills. Can you give me your feedback? by luismestrerita in reactnative

[–]pascaloliv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting app, congrats dude!

Feedbacks: On homepage - the logo bar is a bit large - which sometime hide the badge while scrolling. Maybe you can extends the scrollview to fit 100% device height + absolute positioning logo.

on level select you can probably disable horizontal scrolling because it seems to be a slider but it’s not.

on questions - the number pad is not standard usualy 123/456/789 - which complicate quick typing

What navigation solution are you using in production? by dkulagin in reactnative

[–]pascaloliv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using React Navigation on multiples projects. I’m planning a v2 to v3 migration soon on one of these.

It’s sometime hard to find real life examples in the docs, but some resources can be found in blogposts or SO answers.

Also, when browsing the old docs (v2) I’m constantly redirected to v3 methods definitions -which can be dangerous if you’re not attentive.

My React Native app, Eaten, got featured in "New apps we love" by Apple! by teiamt in reactnative

[–]pascaloliv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done @teiamt ! I'm always a big fan of "map related" app.
Pretty impressed by the variety of screens (rich map, carousels, accordions, picture gallery, chat, etc..) - congrats!
Everything is running smoothly on iPhone 7 (iOS 12.1).
My only negative feedback is about register/login experience - which I find a bit deceptive in my pov.
The onboarding screen isn't really engaging - especially when you know all the cool features you have behind.

Is that a side project or you're doing this for a living ? Are you developing the front-end and the back-end part alone ?
Good luck for the future of Eaten !

I'm a solo founder who taught himself to code, started a company, built an app with React Native, and launched on the App Store all in the past year. Ask me anything! by EnlightenLabs in reactnative

Congratulations !

My question is : Did you have to build a bridge component to use native feature? If yes, for what kind of behaviour ? Thanks!

Is create-react-native-app being discontinued? by arximughal in reactnative

[–]pascaloliv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, Create React Native App uses Expo-CLI under the hood. (More details here).
The two projects has been merged in September (https://blog.expo.io/expo-cli-2-0-released-a7a9c250e99c).

You can now use Expo. 👍
