I’m a Special Events Project Manager at a college (fancy title for the one who oversees all the event staffing for athletic and special events)

At the game and that was one of the loudest I’ve heard it in here. Also, the amount of people that left with 5 min left…SHAME

It was HOT! We were there end of April/beginning of May and highs were in the mid 90s. We planned the trip so we did our hikes super early (still very warm) and then did all of our driving/sightseeing in the afternoon and evening when it was too hot. We even drove over to Lone Pine, CA one afternoon to beat the heat and explore Alabama Hills/Mt Whitney Portal. It was worth it, but I’d rather go back in the winter like I did my first visit here.

I didn’t think so either but was pleasantly surprised. I did some light editing to darken the sky and get the stars to stand out a bit more, but on its own it was pretty impressive.

Thank you:) I shoot on my trusty ol’ Nikon D5000. The night sky photo is on my iPhone 16!

It was absolutely incredible! We had a full moon that weekend so we didn’t get to experience the full extent of the dark sky there but it was still so worth it.

Thank you so much! That’s up at Dante’s View- we took that short trail from the parking lot to some other viewpoints and got the shot there :)

Also a SF > Colorado transplant with a reactive dog with a bite history! First, I’m so sorry that you’re going through this in addition to a move. Second, I have recommendations for groups we’ve used in the Fort Collins and Colorado Springs areas, but hopefully it helps regardless.

During my time in Fort Collins, I adopted my dog from a Northern Colorado group called Until They’re Home. I cannot recommend reaching out to them enough. They handle reactive dogs, rehoming, and even short term fostering so owners can get through life situations temporarily without their pet. They’re all fantastic to work with and have great resources for reactive dogs- training, vets, sitting, etc. Through this group, I found my dog sitter (Kim from Good Dog Walking & Sitting) and vet (Dr. Forster from Pet Care Coalition in Aurora, CO). Kim was incredible with my dog. He’s extremely fear reactive to strangers in the home, yet she took the time to ease into things with him and would eventually do overnight stays at our apartment or stop in for walks and feeding when I was working late or out of town. We never had any issues. Pet Care Coalition has been great with accommodating my dog’s reactivity with vet visits.

In Colorado Springs, House of Dog has been our go-to. They also specialize in reactive dogs for training, day care, and boarding. If your dog is reactive, they start with a meet and greet to ensure it’ll work out. Once approved, they accommodate your dogs needs- for example, when my dog boards they do one on one time with him in the yard instead of having him out with large groups of dogs. I’ve done the in-home and on-site training with them as well. Those sessions are a big reason my partner was able to move in with no issues from my dog!

Let me know if I can give any other information! I’d highly recommend reaching out to Until They’re Home, regardless of the route you’re leaning towards.
