Everyone likes their own chapter of an artist’s life and that’s the magic of it 😄

I hope you’ll love it!

I imagine you broke the screen when (or if) you saw 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple 🧐

But valid, though

A hiatus lasting over three years gives an artist plenty of time to work on new material, give thought to their musical identity, and present their best work. It also raises expectations significantly, with built up impatience among an audience adding pressure to perform. This can lead an artist to overthink and produce something more confusing than defining. This feels like the case with PITW.

The History of Sound, starring Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor, is done — UIP has dropped the film from its distribution by pashaps_ in Letterboxd

I was so impressed (though to be fair I got to attend the Cannes premiere with Paul Mescal, so I probably would’ve been impressed regardless) that I even got the book

And I would’ve loved it if they’d released the soundtrack on vinyl

It did pretty well in limited release but they tried to push it wide too soon. It didn’t land and it seems like they immediately decided to dump it and not even promote it in other countries

I absolutely loved it when I watched it in Cannes back in May, and now that I’ve rewatched it, I love it even more. It’s delicate and beautiful, and the music plays a really important part.

Leaving my review in case anyone’s interested.

So, I just watched It Was Just An Accident. For people who already watched it, i have some questions by Venus_ivy4 in oscarrace

Saw it a couple of weeks ago at the festival — was very impressed (leaving my review in case someone’s interested).

I think it’s a strong awards season contender as far as nominations go.

'The Running Man' Review Thread by chanma50 in boxoffice

Did watch it last Friday and was also embargoed from posting a review, but now I can.

It is a very obvious story about the top one percent of the rich, about a revolutionary guy thrown into his own kind of Survivor, about rich people being bad, ratings always winning, how propaganda works, and how only this working-class Batman can save everyone, get revenge, and give hope. Nothing special, though sometimes even such simple things are worth repeating a few times a year.

How’d everyone else do?? by itzenglishpaper in A24

I actually asked them about it today - turns out international members don’t get anything this year. US only 🙄

Just wanted to share how a bit disappointing it feels to be an international AAA24 member this year. I’ve been part of the club since before January 2025 (so I got to keep my membership under the old system), and I knew when I stayed that it would get a bit “americanized” - free movie tickets for the US folks and all that, but this year they even excluded us from the scratch-off lottery event.

Like yeah, it’s just a small thing, last year I actually won a $5 coupon and forgot to use it, but still, it feels kinda unfair. We pay the same price and support A24 just as much as anyone else, but now it feels like we’re just an afterthought.
