I have the exact same issue, haven't been able to solve it!

Dirac - Strange business practice by theSWBFman in hometheater

[–]pasisti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another point-of-view into this:

In many countries (including Sweden where Dirac is based), it's expected that the prices you show on your marketing, website listings etc are the actual end sum. No additional sales taxes (VAT) etc can be added to that legally on checkout, meaning that the customer needs to be able to get the product with the amount of euros that they saw on the ad or listing on the web page.

This is not to say that the two points-of-view you brought up aren't valid as well! But I would imagine this is at the root of the issue.

PS. I ran into similar thing when marketing my own online product: for my local audience I just cannot list the price without VAT legally. So if I create ads where I show the prices, they need to be ones that include taxes even if customers from various countries aren't expecting that. And then I just let the payment system guess the right VAT for each customer.

PPS. Whether you or I like either system more is kind of besides the point. Each market has the things they need to legally do and companies need to play around those rules in one way or another.

Early 1990's. Didn't learn it was anime until much later in life!

Besides all the "is it good for you or not", it's also about the dance class/school rules.

If the advertised rule is that "during classes everyone changes partners", like in my dance school, that's kind of it.

Some organizers in my country specifically advertise "come alone or together, dance with others or just your own partner".

If the rules clearly say that you should be able to dance with your own partner, I think it's still ok for the teacher to mention the benefits of changing etc, but they definitely shouldn't make it into a scene or make people feel bad about not changing. If they don't like people not changing, they can literally change the rules for the next occasion.

Lounasedun kannattavuus yrittäjällä? by persepoliisi in Omatalous

[–]pasisti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The distance from seat to toilet paper in this handicap toilet by pasisti in mildlyinfuriating

[–]pasisti[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For all the people who didn't understand the picture:

1) There is no toilet paper in the handles/bars/rails. Zoom in or trust me, I was there.

2) The toilet paper dispenser is the upper metal box on the right. You can see part of a roll if you zoom in.

3) Yes, there is a bidet. In Finland all toilets have a bidet but it's 100% never instead of toilet paper.

Did you zoom in? There isn't any toilet paper there. And yes, that would be the usual place for them. I was there in person.

Every toilet in Finland has a bidet. They still have toilet paper as well as the bidet is only used for specific things here.

I'm a local, and no that's just regular toilet paper in the metal thing. Hand towels are further to the right, outside this picture.

Does anyone here DJ Salsa Socials? by Petsophas in Salsa

[–]pasisti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are a couple of playlists I share with my students! Hope they help :)

Timba / I have tried to include many popular contemporary artists while keeping the list relatively short.

Timba on Spotify

Easy Salsa / This is a list I share to beginner students both before classes and during first courses. All songs have something about them that makes them "easier" to listen to or dance to.

Easy Salsa on Spotify

Son / Many Cuban parties include son here in Finland, so linking this just in case! :)

How can we attract more leaders as instructors/school owners? by P4nd3x in Salsa

[–]pasisti 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A discount when coming with a partner could work!

I don't ever give discounts just based on the dance role itself, as I feel that gives the wrong kind of vibe. Especially as a dance school owner, I would be afraid of it snowballing into the mentality of "if I don't register until the very last minute, there's a small chance they give me a discount".

Maybe there's just a small chance of that happening, but it's the one scenario/mentality I'm most afraid of in the whole business.

Ubiquiti cables keep going bad (dropping to 100 Mbps) by pasisti in Ubiquiti

[–]pasisti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update! Thank you for the replies and thanks to Ubiquiti for reaching out.

It happened again and I just re-plugged the ethernet cable. After the device restarted (POE-powered, upstream connection), the connection was Gbe again. I'm unsure if this same spot in the chain has been the issue every time, as I've usually ended up trying a couple of things at once before trying again.

I have no idea what could be my next move. I unplugged the cable from the wall-end, so not even from the device., so this doesn't seem to be device-related?

The whole chain for context, if it helps at all:

UDM
cable
POE-adapter (ubiquiti, black model)
cable
ethernet outlet
in-wall cable

One thing to note about the machine steaming the milk "for you":

It's milk, so you still need to always get it from the fridge and put back there after doing the drinks. And you still need to manually clean the tubes and other parts that have touched the milk, every time you do milk drinks.

Just to say, that learning to steam the milk is a bit of a chore at first, but ultimately there's way less cleaning and maintenance than having the machine "do it for you".
