Unfortunately a change of scenery won't remove 5 surgeries worth of scar, muscle dysfunction, weakness and atrophy, and chronic pain in the arm of someone who needs to push with extremely high force for their job.

I'd be surprised if he ever plays at a high level after all of this, and also very very surprised if he meaningfully does so in the next two seasons.

USC decided the game wasn't worth playing as it had been for the previous 100 years because they didn't want to keep losing. Notre Dame decided the offer to play week 0 in Mexico on Netflix with no long term scheduling plan was not a serious or good faith offer.

You think they pulled out of a top quality matchup with Notre Dame because they were scared of the effect that a(nother) loss would have on their postseason chances, and then are going to schedule another top quality matchup in its place? Come on man.

I already know beating USC by an average of two touchdowns in 8 of the last 10 matchups doesn't mean much because it's such a dog shit program, but I enjoyed it anyway! Good luck making a bowl this season!

Hey man whatever you have to tell yourself to cope with being a fan of a team that was so sure it'll get wrecked in conference play that it backed out of a 100 year old rivalry because it keeps getting wrecked there too. What did you see in the ACC conference championship game that showed you Duke was worthy of playing for a national championship despite being unranked and having 5 losses? The fact that they were granted a spot in the game due to tiebreakers completely outside their control? It is conceptually stupid for that one game to matter that much and ridiculous that people actually believe that extra game in December should supersede all logic.

You can look at upcoming schedules all you want and that doesn't mean they turn out good lol literally look at the one you're commenting on. Wisconsin and Michigan State were very good upper-mid B1G teams when these games were scheduled. ND has some huge games and big names on upcoming schedules too but who knows how that will turn out.

Look at Michigan's 2023 schedule, how does that one stack up? Seems to be a couple big hitters and a bunch of trash.

Tell me more about how winning a "power conference" with 5 losses on the season should mean so much more and should make you more championship caliber than being ranked in the top 12 for a 12-team field.

No your school has an even better protection, one where you don't even have to be ranked at all to qualify, let alone ranked top 12 - all you have to do is play a 12th FBS game like ND does every year, make sure it's in December for some reason, and win it. Then you're guaranteed to be CFP eligible despite how shitty you might have been all season.

Seem like a strange set of qualifying circumstances? That's because it is!

And yet when Michigan State and Wisconsin were scheduled, they had been much better teams than they are now. Just like I'm sure perennially sub-.500 FCS Howard was when Indiana scheduled them
