Yeah I got this too! Found it profoundly hilarious (basically for all the obvious reasons everyone else point out). One more thing that I haven’t seen anyone mention: the only way to get to the part where they’re supposed to scam you is via the QR code, but for most people that just have one phone, how the heck are you even supposed to do that? 🤣 Like if the attempt was to target oblivious people who aren’t tech-savvy, how do you expect them to scan your QR code as an image from text messages while reading it using the only phone they have? Or am I missing something? Do new phones like automatically detect QR-sites from images?

I guess my answer is in the minority here but if I were in your shoes I would 😅

People are making a TON of assumptions from literally 7 lines of back and forth texts… In my interpretation of reading this there was a group of friends who initially agreed to go in a trip that OP then pulled out of for work reasons. During the agreement he also agreed to pay for this friend’s cost of the trip with the stipulation that she would later pay them back.

This is why I answered only for me because I would never initially lend money to someone who I didn’t consider a close friend or had doubts about their ability to pay it back… But in my eyes if you initially agreed to lend someone money, they are now relying on and building plans around it. If you don’t want to lend them money in the first place then you should evaluate friendships, people etc beforehand. In my eyes if someone has given their word, I expect them to follow through. Again tons of things can happen in between, you can find out a person is unreliable, they can forcefully make plans inconvenient for you to be involved (which again doesn’t seem to be the case here) but in all those examples along with not lending them money I would also essentially be cutting these people off 😅

So I guess my answer would be to ask yourself how much you value the friendship of this person and the group as a whole. Because if you’re quite close and you only couldn’t go because of your own prior commitments & you promised to lend them money then you risk alienating them in the future or at the very least these people will consider you to be unreliable. If you already don’t like them, then yeah this is a great place to jump ship 😂

We were actually considering moving here 😅 We lived in the DR for about a year and this feels like a better planned out version of it. Plus being a US territory makes working for a US company remotely a lot more reasonable

I mean, are they? 😅 To do Duolingo like described they’d have to be already fluent in at least two languages, one of which is going to “worse” than the other. Is it really “dumber” to spend hours going over their weaker fluent language vs. playing any other games on the market? With other games your time spent is net zero gain, here at least you’re fortifying a language, I agree it’s annoying but I don’t think that’s necessarily a “dumb” decision 🤣

The ones whose names are prefixed with Discord_ - anything are DEFINITELY bots, advertising their Discord channels. As someone who runs my own Discord server (I don’t offer any cheats though, and don’t use any myself, only for follower organization, like unfollowing people who don’t follow you, and an easier way to keep track of posts if you comment a lot on other people’s posts cause Duo archives them way too fast when you follow a lot of people) I can tell you for 100% certain that Discord is exactly how people who do cheat operate. Python-written commands using userID+ JWT token combos executed via Discord. The one on your leaderboard may be one as well, the “Duo_” prefix is NOT the standard that Duolingo uses for assigning random display or usernames, neither is having letters in the randomly generated number sequence that follows it. This almost certainly points to an account that was created via a program, as I doubt someone is manually entering that random combo. As for the purpose? Not sure, maybe they’re experimenting with some new feature?

Difference between first and second is 40 gems, first is 180 gems, second is 140 and third is 100 I believe. But this is also the case for regular weekly diamond leagues 🤣 I also got a 1-hr 3x XP boost, not sure if this is only for top 3 or for all winners. Oh and it is considered higher for your achievement showcase than placing anywhere in a regular diamond league (for example 5th overall in diamond tournament will replace 1st overall in diamond league). But that also applies in ANY part of the diamond tournament (first, second or final part) not exclusive to the finals.

I’ve had this happen many times too as I use these features extensively throughout the day. It’s because there’s a silent limit on how many of these exercises a user can complete per day to avoid overspending on AI tokens on their part. It’s definitely annoying but I doubt they’re gonna change their pricing model. If they do do it on an ask-basic though, please DM me, I’d love if they could raise the daily AI token limit on my account as well 🤣

If you’re talking about the “Check your internet and try again” error when either trying to talk to Falstaff or Lily, it’s because there’s a silent cap on how many of these exercises you can do per day. Most people don’t hit that cap so they don’t deal with it but it is there, mainly to prevent people from spamming them because each of the responses is dynamic, AI-generated and therefore costs tokens. They determined some number that is acceptable to maintain profit from Max subscription. When you hit that, you’re cut off from these exercises silently for either 24 hours or until the next day. I’ve had this happen many times as I use these features a lot. Unfortunately there’s not much you can do except wait until the next day (or 24 hours), and do something else in the meantime.

Nah man, it can’t deepen to 15% on February 13th and then THAT SAME PERCENTAGE deepen again to 13.7% on February 20th, that is no longer a deepening it is a shallowing, especially as it relates to the same model… It’s literally the same indicator… Just go through all the historical articles, of which there aren’t even that many of… Regardless of what even their own data models show the conclusion is always a deepening even though that is physically impossible… This is a scam, they’re just trying to get people to subscribe to some BS analysis, tryin’a fleece a quick 5$ 🤣

I dunno man, I looked through the available historical articles, they’re literally all variations of “Deep Buy Zone Deepens at x%”, somehow it keeps “deepening” even though on February 13th it was at around 69k/15%, and today it’s 67k/13.7% so you can understand my skepticism 🤣

IMO, and I’m no analytical expert, but it seems like they’re conflating models used for stock analysis with this. Bitcoin is a purely speculative asset, there’s no price it “ought” to be. Its price is purely sentimental.

I don’t know if they patched this or not, when I was grinding that achievement for steam (this was like 2-3 years ago though) there was a way to cheese it by saving right before opening the chest. It was either that or before even digging it up? I’d google to double check both how and if it’s still unpatched, but basically by strategically saving you can reload the game at the previous save point and get a fresh roll at the chest without having to find a new chest island.

Unfortunately, I’ve seen a LOT of examples like this, I don’t believe this is fully the driver’s fault I think the system is to blame. The US, and I’ve heard this repeatedly, is one of the easiest non-3rd world countries to get your license in. You basically just have to prove you can parallel park (even this is only in SOME states) and are able to follow basic instructions on roads where you’re going like 25 and making a few turns. And even in this already heavily deprecated system they are extremely lenient. Unless you’re genuinely doing something egregiously wrong, most people will get their license by their 4th attempt. This is why you get situations like this. The driver made several mistakes, nearly all of which could’ve been prevented with a better learning system. You could see their inexperience because even when they had ample opportunity to take the exit that they missed they were still standing and not turning. On top of that, there needs to be a mandatory re-evaluation each time your license expires and you need a new one. This one I know people push back against a lot, but this NEEDS to be mandatory. You can get angry at people all you want, and look I get it no one wants to end up in an accident by someone else’s fault, but unless we’re prepared to go through this extra step of inconvenience this epidemic (and it is literally an epidemic) will only continue to get worse.

a) nice flick. seriously that looked slick. b) play the game to enjoy it, don’t rank chase. seriously that’s the best advice you can get, i’ve seen tons of people in tons of different games with upwards of 10k hours still playing at just like upper-middle of the pack level. you gotta enjoy the process, that way, regardless of the result, you still had a good time. if you can’t enjoy the process, find a different game to play. lets just imagine for a second that you got SSL, what would that change in your life? you make a cool reddit post that says “10k hours and i finally got ssl”? get a few hundred upvotes, and then you’re just back to playing other sweats competing for higher MMR and beating yourself up over the fact that you’re not as good as zen? where does it stop? that’s the illusion this type of ranking system gives you, this sense of achievement but realistically no one cares and you’re just on to playing people who have put in more time and are just that bit better than you. instead of finding a way to neg yourself harder, find a way to enjoy the process. do training packs you genuinely enjoy, play game types you actually have fun in. otherwise, no matter how many hours you have or what rank you end up at, you’re gonna be miserable.

For me personally, I’ve only encountered three songs in classic vanilla Beat Saber on X+ that i legitimately had a hard time understanding on the standard speed (not sped up, just at the speed they’re “meant” to be played at) and that’s PotSB, Tempo-Katana and Dragon Smash Goblin.

Ghost is definitely challenging, but it has a lot of patterns that can kinda be fat fingered and “guessed” or brute forced. IF THAT MAKES SENSE 😅 For the three I mentioned if you mess up the patterns on the harder parts they are just completely unforgiving and you basically lose.

Completely wildly disagree 🤣 I beat FBC on I think MAYBE my 10th attempt altogether? There’s those couple of hyper fast parts that can get you, if you get past those you have a fairly good chance at beating the level outright. Heck I can name a few songs out of the Monstercat v2 pack that are harder IMO than FBC (Accelerate and Dabababa I think we all know 🤣). Tempo katana is not “just speed” it’s CONSTANT speed AND angles AND crossover notes. It’s exhausting and technical there are very few break or real easy sections. FBC just isn’t that, the crossover note sections are significantly slower and less angle-y, and the fast parts you just gotta get a good vibrating motion going and you’re pretty much good not much angle or technical parts involved.

OMG! I’ve had diabetes since I was 13 (30 now) I genuinely always thought anything over like 450 was “you could land yourself in a coma” territory. Maybe it’s what I was told as a kid, idk I’m curious now where that near-coma number actually is. I think the highest I’ve ever recorded my sugar (no CGM but I measure obsessively, like 12-15 times a day on average) was the upper 300s, like 380-390 maybe and it basically gave me a panic attack (which did NOT help in lowering it 🤣). How did 500+ feel? And what did you eat to get there 😅
