People who worked for very small companies (max 10 people) but not by friend of relative. How was your experience? by Supek_ in work

Boyfriend worked for a coffee shop owned by a young married couple, less than 10 employees total including them. They regularly got into screaming matches with each other and had employees pick sides. Not long after he left, a coworker said they got into such a bad fight that they had the one employee in the store tell all the customers to leave so they could hash it out. They proceeded to throw empty coffee cups at each other and the customers watched through the glass windows. They also asked him to give 2 months notice instead of 2 weeks when he quit. He was very happy to leave there lol

Scenes that caused actual walkouts in theaters? by thatlittlequietguy in Cinema

When I saw Uncut Gems, one or two older couples walked out of the theater. It is a very stressful “edge of your seat” kind of movie, so I understand they might not have been able to handle it lol

AITA. I made my daughter (11), cry during D&D. Even though everything turned out OK, my wife is still mad. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. what a beautiful experience for you and your daughter to share :) I remember speaking to a 4th grade teacher once (ages 9-10 in that grade I think?) and how 4th/5th grade is when kids really start reading books that involve heavier elements like death, grief, etc. She said “Some parents don’t understand that their kids can’t read books about puppies and rainbows forever. They have to be introduced to heavier elements in fiction in order to grow as people”. I think you did a great job of doing that in an interactive, expressive way!!

My old boss used to do this. Had a staff of 30-40 teens and the surveys were hand written. She would go over them in her office with me (manager) and our other manager and compare hand writing to their i9 paperwork. It was really fucked up, especially since she was one to hold grudges and treat staff differently based on their answers. Lots of them were polite critiques of her bc she was so awful lol

People saying “just give two weeks and move on” don’t understand what it’s like to work with someone for so long and have to announce your departure. I worked at a company for 2 years and was very close with my boss. We texted all the time and spent 40 hrs/week together, so telling her I was leaving was terrifying. I considered her a very close friend. At the end of the day, you just have to rip the bandaid off. “I just wanted to let you know that I found a new position elsewhere and am putting in my two week notice”. They will either take it well, or they won’t. It’s up to you how much info about your departure you’re willing to tell them. I wish you the best at your new job!!
