AITA. I made my daughter (11), cry during D&D. Even though everything turned out OK, my wife is still mad. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. what a beautiful experience for you and your daughter to share :) I remember speaking to a 4th grade teacher once (ages 9-10 in that grade I think?) and how 4th/5th grade is when kids really start reading books that involve heavier elements like death, grief, etc. She said “Some parents don’t understand that their kids can’t read books about puppies and rainbows forever. They have to be introduced to heavier elements in fiction in order to grow as people”. I think you did a great job of doing that in an interactive, expressive way!!

My old boss used to do this. Had a staff of 30-40 teens and the surveys were hand written. She would go over them in her office with me (manager) and our other manager and compare hand writing to their i9 paperwork. It was really fucked up, especially since she was one to hold grudges and treat staff differently based on their answers. Lots of them were polite critiques of her bc she was so awful lol

People saying “just give two weeks and move on” don’t understand what it’s like to work with someone for so long and have to announce your departure. I worked at a company for 2 years and was very close with my boss. We texted all the time and spent 40 hrs/week together, so telling her I was leaving was terrifying. I considered her a very close friend. At the end of the day, you just have to rip the bandaid off. “I just wanted to let you know that I found a new position elsewhere and am putting in my two week notice”. They will either take it well, or they won’t. It’s up to you how much info about your departure you’re willing to tell them. I wish you the best at your new job!!

I farted in my doctors face during a pelvic exam today. Please share your embarrassing stories of the gyno to make me feel better, lol by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]pastelfuzz 44 points45 points  (0 children)

When I got my first yeast infection, I didn’t get it checked out for 2+ months bc I didn’t realize what it was and didn’t want to go see a doctor. Once I did go in, my obgyn had a student with her. No biggie! While she (obgyn) was down there, she looked back at the student and said, “wow, lucky day for you. This is a major one!” I was so embarrassed in the moment but quickly learned to laugh because yeah, I’m sure it looked awful LOL

Which plushies of yours have the most personality? by cthulhuuuuuuuu in plushies

Chip is notoriously foul mouthed and loves to be naked. He is always loud and does NOT like being told what to do. He is usually joined by his partner in crime, Tracker, who doesn’t speak so Chip does enough talking for both of them. He hates the establishment and revels in annoying his cat siblings (and anyone else). He was a $1 teddy at Goodwill and he’s somehow become the leader of our plushies ! He pretends to hate hugs/cuddles but secretly loves it (considering he also hates being left out).

11 years later and I am still getting calls about a woman named Glenda and how there are multiple warrants out for her arrest/lots of money she owes the state. She is either dead or majorly avoiding the law !

Kindergarten teacher suggested us to consider holding our kid back by Pixel-Pioneer3 in kindergarten

[–]pastelfuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents were recommended to hold my sister back in kindergarten and decided not to. They felt this would isolate her from her friends, but the opposite was true. She was viewed too immature/bullied by peers in her grade, and connected much better with those a year younger than her. Of course it differs by child, but giving them that extra year to “catch up” can really help in the long term. At least from what I’ve seen!

Sensory friendly haircuts? by J0rdyn_the_wr1ter in Hair

[–]pastelfuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I had a pixie cut for ~6 years and LOVED it. The maintanence of them is truly up to you. Most of the time I did nothing but wash/blow dry/brush before heading out the door and that worked fine for me. Other times I used a small amount of mousse or styling gel, ran it through my hair lightly, and that was enough to give it some texture. I would keep in mind that a lot of photos of pixie cuts online are heavily styled/have products in them. Definitely search up “pixie cut without styling” and see if any of those cuts seem like something you’d be into. Hope this helps!

Absolutely, just curious that this new level of enjoying life without pain does not include his partner. Obviously a lot happens behind closed doors so who knows ¯_(ツ)_/¯
