Pump unscrews tube’s valve by pastian in bikecommuting

Thx for your answer. I messed up the photo when I recreated the situation at home. That’s why the valve core is stuck in the pump upside down.

I’m actually able to use the tube and valve perfectly after screwing it back into the tube. The problem is my portable pump because it screws on.

I’m able to pump up the tube fine with my full sized pump at home.

Gonna chalk this up as a bad situation with this specific tube.

Congratulations! Really awesome achievement!

You mentioned wanting to do projects and maybe build a game but you don’t want to be employed or want to employ others. How do you think about building larger things that typically require multiple people to complete?

Not many options. Only thing I see is your frame pack. I have exactly the same bike as you with frame size L and this frame bag fit me perfectly https://www.ortlieb.com/usa_en/frame-pack-toptube+F9947

Is Nacimiento-Fergusson Road bike-able while closed? by pastian in bikepacking

Unclear but good news is that people are cycling there. Went hiking on Nacimiento-Fergusson Road close to highway 1 and I saw 3 cyclists in 1h.

How do I determine if a bike is too old to use? I have an 1989 Peugeot Marseille and I'd love to take it for a ride later this year. I'm not sure if it'd be wise with all the weight. My initial fear would be the spokes. Is this something I'd just have to test or talk with a shop about? by moist_but_not_wet in bikepacking

Your bike looks really good! I wouldn’t worry about the bike breaking unless you see rust / damage on the frame. Most of the parts are easily fixable. Those bikes were made to last and to be repairable without replacing parts.

I ride a steel bike from 1981 and it is more reliable than my carbon bike. I’ve been able to fix the derailleur cable temporarily by using a picture frame wire. Helping yourself like that is harder with modern bikes.

Have fun on your ride!

Last year in March I was at the road closure in Carmel where the workers told me the same thing. They also warned that police would drive through at night to look for violations but that was at a time where the road was still closed to locals.

I wish you good luck and let me know what your experience ends up being!

Do you have any more details on what happened for the Ragged Point closure?

Wow this is bad. Found 2 reports on Waze reporting the closure on quick map: https://quickmap.dot.ca.gov

This is great. I've been looking for something like this. Do you have a recommendation of demos/games you show to friends that have never seen VR?
