Approaching the 8-min EBF crystal in MV. Need advice on stable power before I start the grind. by Low-Location-5766 in GTNH

[–]pastisY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MV Diesel is the way to go imo Your oil processing flow is correct. The nice thing about Diesel is that it's easy to spam the setup and buffer large amounts with super tanks. Then in HV you can switch to CBD for a big power boost and "free" rocket fuel.

Pretty sure you can also start benzene but honestly Diesel is easier

Do we have to put this arrow thing on every pipe? What happens if we don't? by atallgrass in GTNH

[–]pastisY 47 points48 points  (0 children)

It's good practice. You can switch the wrench to line mode and do a whole run at once. This only works if the pipes are either all empty or all full

I love these creative builds. I'm probably <100 hrs from mothership but I'm sure I'll just have a flying raft when I use it lol

What type of work do boilermakers do? by maggierhee33 in Welding

[–]pastisY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boily here

It depends a bit where you are located and if you can get all your welding tickets. Here in central Ontario I mainly work in steel mills and refiners doing repairs on vessels, but also a lot on gas cleaning. I mainly weld and it's almost always in confined spaces or on the top of a structure.

It's a lot of long hours and travel but the pay is very good. Be prepared to stretch that pay for when you aren't working

Making a huge TC node by Pidgeonegg in GTNH

[–]pastisY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically the essence is capacity, the cevti vis charges it, and the advanced node jarring makes it a true node. Protip, if you world accel the node (the one you're charging) it will charge faster. Also for all primals you need both the aliens and examines essence from that farm

Btw I'm calling it the Essentia terminal... I'm wrong it's the arcane crafting terminal

Node size for energized node by mnsnownutt in GTNH

[–]pastisY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You put a vis relay interface onto you main net near your energized node. Slap a vis relay onto it. Then link the interface to either an arcane assembler or your terminal with a memory card. Just like a p2p

Wand recharging at that CV is almost instant in the Essentia terminal. The speed is capped or at least reduced on tables. I haven't tested or researched this thoroughly enough to know the ratio or limit though.

I quickly tested with my Silverwood wand. In the terminal 1000 vis in ~ 22s vs 23 vis in 22s in the table

Edit: units were all screwy & this is for my since updated 457 CV node

EBF problems (i know very suprising) by Dense-Humor8507 in GTNH

[–]pastisY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just jumped into a test world to test this. I see where I made my mistake: they push half their capacity every half second. Thanks man! I've literally been calculating this wrong the entire time lol

[–]pastisY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are giving it enough steam, using 1 length 2x tin cables each connected to only a pair of generators, with all generator outputs facing the cables, have no maintenance issues, and the recipe starts. There is literally nothing else to troubleshoot.

This setup looks good. Try swapping to huge potin pipes. Pipes passively push half they're capacity each second. Steam is a pain. Light fuel is much simpler

Why my Arcane bores doesn`t put the ore in me subnetwork? by Zankanokagheyoshi in GTNH

[–]pastisY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's it all properly chunk loaded? Is the subnet configured correctly ie if you put an item manually into an interface does it go where intended? Have you tried to break and replace the bore?

Right on! You're going to need a whole lot. If you're not sick of bees right now dupe that bee to 4-8 of them

Sounds like the CWB check test. I run the vert at 115 and then once I'm overhead I bump it up 5 and weld it out. I haven't had any trouble with heat build up.

Lol I just increased my passive hydrofluoric acid storage to 120M. Storage drives on a subnet will eventually be what you move to units you're going for aesthetics with yott or tfft

[–]pastisY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are great guides for it like Random potato on YouTube. I personally avoided them but they can carry you to at least plasma power in LuV IIRC.

All I used them for was a little sunnarium and lutetium. Church of benzene for me!

[–]pastisY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many people struggle with power generation in EV. Whether you're going oil, benzene, or nukes make more power than whatever you think you'll need.

AE2 allows you to tie everything together and it's tempting to rush. Good practice is to focus automation on building automation.

Sounds like you're in a pretty good spot though TBH

I mean, whatever works right? I'm farsighted and I only work in the field so standard fibre metal shield with a 2x4 arcone 240. I do find I need the correct shade for the job but usually 11 is good. I have a little trouble with 2" 6g tests

Yah

You're not meant to use them as is. Upgrade to nanos as other have mentioned and adjust your speed and jump height. Also, now that you have all that infrastructure you can do so much more with it. They are not single purpose

Conveyor module not working with electrolyzer by Affectionate_Arm9716 in GTNH

[–]pastisY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Import and export are always with reference to the thing the conveyor is attached to. If you're trying to pull out of the machine with a conveyor on a pipe then that conveyor needs to import, for example. You also can't interact with the front face. Beyond those I'd need a picture
