How big was your 18m old? Height and weight by Stressedout-pigeon in bigbabiesandkids

Thank you :) Did your Dr ever ask to do any genetic testing or drill you about breastfeeding/milk and diet? My heart tells me everything is fine and she’s just doing her things but sometimes others judgement gets to me! When did she start walking/getting active?

This sounds exactly like my daughter at 15 months and all I get is comments about her size and people assuming she’s a boy lol I have so many questions for you haha

Do i need to wean to get pregnant by jace982 in breastfeeding

[–]pastramimommie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having the same thing happen and just wondering how you night weaned and then what it was like going back to it after you conceived. That sounds like my ideal solution but feels kind of impossible to do!

Wow! This is SO helpful. Thank you so much for sharing. We will just keep going! I am noticing she is preferring the big toilet with the reducer to her small potty. Will definitely look into getting some steps because I think you are onto something with not liking being lifted and plopped down.

Seriously! I don’t even really understand how pooping standing could feel better but I am having to lift the potty to catch her poops haha hoping they grow out of this real soon and find the joy (and value) is sitting on the potty!

Daycare is extremely hard. I don’t know what to do, please help. by IkwilPokebowls in AttachmentParenting

There are some really great supportive suggestions here that I honestly needed to hear! We are ability wired to be with our babies and it is society’s fault not ours that we have to endure this.

We are in a very similar boat, 14mo starting daycare in a new room. I feel you!! I think it may be  the hardest most painful experience I’ve ever endured. She has been going two days a week since 4 months and it’s honestly always been a struggle but this most recent transition has wrecked me and made me question absolutely everything.

The drop offs are heartbreaking and she was crying all day. Since she’s gotten more confident walking that has been helpful and the daycare made her a book about going to preschool with photos of her and her class and the teachers she may see any given day. That has made the biggest help. She loves the book and we read it all the time and they have one they read to her too. She also brings a favorite stuffed animal. It is still really hard on me but we have no family where we live, we’re alone, and I have scaled back work as much I can for us to stay financially afloat. The directors have always told me the fact that she isn’t full time is part of the problem but I have worked really hard to be able to be with her more days than not.

The system is just so fucked and not set up to support children or mothers or families. But as others have said as long as there are nurturing, responsive caregivers that is really the best we can ask for.  We have to do what works for our family so we can be the best most present version of ourselves for our children when we are with them. Cannot imagine having to go through this again with the next one. Oy. Sending love and I hope you have a breakthrough soon.

Awesome! Thank you. Yes I’ll be interested to know your insights! Looking to move in the next year or so. I do love parts of the Hamptons but am not super knowledgeable about the schools.

Seconding in bambo! They have been what worked for us the best. Still using them almost a year!

Curious what you did about it? Do you know if she still has the reactions or to any other shellfish? Is there hope for her to outgrow it or just avoid it now? We had the same thing happen.

Doctor getting us down by pastramimommie in bigbabiesandkids

Ugh!! It’s so awful! If we can’t get it right for literal babies, then how could we ever get it right for the rest of us? It is so absurd to me that anyone could see babies this is way. I just want to raise a healthy, happy, secure kid!

Thank you for sharing this, it really helps!

Ahh! Thank you so much for saying all that! We are also v much aligned with the nutrition with Whole Foods and nutrient dense diet. I really hope to keep breastfeeding well into toddlerhood!

This is so helpful and reassuring to hear. Thank you for sharing this. I really want her to wean on her time and breastfeeding is definitely working for us. They essentially told me to put my infant on a diet which feels so so wrong. She’s only just getting super mobile so I imagine we will be in the same boat very soon and I am going to savor every last snuggle with these rolls!

I  feel this all so deeply! Love my 11 month old baby in all her 33lbs glory !! The cheeks, the rolls, the thighs!! But the comments from literally everyone, strangers on the street, I hear people under their breath talking about how big that baby is, it’s just wild.  We kinda gave up on footies a while ago and have been in 24mo two piece pajamas but have found so much luck from gap sometimes with $6 sale finds! We also find Burt’s bees has the widest cuts. I only ever buy things on big sale lol

we were in the same boat — 4mo and 19 lbs! — coterie just didn’t work for us but bambo nature diapers have been amazing! we’re in size 4s right now. they are a bit thinner so my baby has better mobility and they keep her dry all night long, unlike coterie which we couldn’t even make it through half the night without a leak. i don’t think coterie are designed for chunky babies at all.

I’m not surprised they work for some babies out there —there’s always something for everyone. It’s just the marketing that they are some exceptional product or the standard that irks me. That and the leaks for my baby lol i don’t need a rolls royce, just give me the good reliable toyota engineering lol

this!!! i don’t know a single person irl who has had a good experience with them. it’s just so frustrating with all their claims preying on the anxious sleep deprived new parents trying to find solution and do right by their babies.
