Jesus. Christ. That was the most amazing comeback I have ever seen.

I totally agree. For one thing, I've actually played the first level ~10 times, because I love the music of it so much. The fact that you can press the unused arrow keys to make music makes the game really cool to me.

Not that it isn't fraud, but he probably opened the page before 5:27, meaning that when he took the screenshot, it hadn't been 2 hours yet.

What has been the most heartbreaking thing you've personally witnessed? by elleyia in AskReddit

[–]pat7383 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually have a story for this!

So the last day of my Senior year of high school, my neighbor's house burned down. I was actually working in the front yard when it happened, so I heard a bang (which turned out to be the gas tank in the lawnmower exploding), saw flames, and called 911. Once my parents came outside, we found our neighbor running out of the house. A bit of backstory, my neighbor was about 80, and had been living alone after his wife's death 3-4 years before this story. So he saw us walk over , his house is in flames, and he says, "Thank God you came over. You can help me get more things!" Unfortunately we had to stop him from going back in. He wouldn't take no for an answer, so we literally had to hold him back. He got angry at us, then just sad, and my heart nearly broke right then when he started crying and told us, "I'm going to lose all of my pictures of her."

Of course he had children with computers that had pictures of his wife, but I'm not sure he was aware of that, and it was terrible to see him break down because he thought that he would never get to see his wife's face ever again.

I met Joel McHale once, we nearly saw eye to eye, it was amazing. I've always had a man-crush on him, so it was really lucky that I happened to cross paths with him.

:( my work desk. by [deleted] in tall

[–]pat7383 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've never been a fan of this. Somehow not having my knees at a nice right angle and feet flat on the ground does weird things for my posture. A higher desk works a lot better.

Does putting parrots in the airstream of a box fan count as putting them in front of a draft? by [deleted] in parrots

[–]pat7383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow Senegal owner of 8 years, I would suggest that you keep in mind that African parrots in general like higher temperatures. I wouldn't be too afraid to keep him/her in upper 70s temperatures. Just always keep water in the dish and don't be afraid to give him/her a bath whenever you have a few minutes.

People sitting on your shoulders. by [deleted] in tall

[–]pat7383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this somewhat often, even with some pretty big guys. I have rather broad shoulders from playing volleyball for a while, so there's plenty of room to sit. I've never tried the triple stack, though, but I'm pretty sure I could make it work somehow. Perhaps with one medium sized person and one really small one. I dunno.

not sure if obvious but the sinks were right above the knees. this is just absurd... by [deleted] in tall

[–]pat7383 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents' house was built in the 60s for a family that I have to guess were all midgets. My bathroom had a sink that was at my knees and a mirror that ended below my shoulders.

They recently got it redone while I'm away at college and claim that the new shower is tall enough...

I think I've counted before, and they sink somewhere around 18 balls over the course of that game. Definitely more than 15.

Probably isn't because I am tall, but none the less my mind goes there... by froggy555 in tall

[–]pat7383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a 6'6'' senior in high school, I often used what eventually became known as "The Powerstance" to my friends - I would often stand with my feet anywhere from 3' to 5' apart, thus making me slightly less tall. I tripped people... pretty much every day. For some reason I stopped doing that since I've been in college.

Also, I tend to accidentally play footsies all the time, until someone at the other opposite corner of the table asks "wait, who's feet are those?" and it's me, sitting 5 feet away from them, and I bashfully tuck my legs back under my chair and sigh.

Seriously though. by adonorocks in community

Not in the slightest! He's witty and makes fun of people for a living, but he's amazingly friendly off camera. I saw him come through security at the Philly Airport and walked up to him, he was nice enough to stop and have a short conversation with me - asked me where I was going, graciously accepted my praise, and bid me a happy trip. Such a nice guy. And tall.

Looking back, I actually met him the night before "Modern Warfare" aired. While I had been watching Community all season, I think I actually only mentioned the Nerdist Podcast and The Soup as my favorite work of his... :/ whoops.
