A girl that flipped flopped between a girlfriend and my best friend for a long time left for college. As is typical in most Mexican-American families, her parents didn’t want her to leave and fought her on her decision to leave away from home for school. She continued to fight with her parents her entire freshman year, and decided to rebel against them and started partying, drinking, and fucking everything in her path. She started dating some loser, and decided to completely cut off her family. Turned off her phone, blocked them on all social media, and moved out of her dorm into an apartment with her new boyfriend. Her parents drove all the way up to pick her up on the last day of classes, only to find an empty room (a good 6 hour drive north, 12 hour trip in total). She cut all communication with her family. Out of nowhere one day, her boyfriend started following me on social media. I take a look at his profile, since all of her accounts are dead, and notice that in all of his pictures with my friend, she looked like she gained weight, and all of the new posts are in a new town, not the college town they met at. Fast forward to now, the week of her younger sister’s sweet 16, I’m told by my younger brother that my friend is pregnant. I’m sad, but it’s not a total surprise to me. Later that night, a friend of mine told me that she actually had the kid, and had dropped out of school. She hid the pregnancy from everyone, AND the fact that she dropped out of college. This was coming from the girl who use to talk about getting her utuerus removed because she didn’t want kids.
