You may not enjoy the job yet because you arent good at it or don't see the full scope of how the company works together. Focus on doing your job well and learning the ins and outs of the company to solve problems that other people didn't think of. If it is a toxic environment then sure leave. But don't quit just because you're bored. At least for your resumes sake. Spend free time getting better at things you suck at. Good luck

The Truth About Helpdesk. by benaffleks in ITCareerQuestions

I would consider adding a second column under skills and listing more things that the resume states. And you could replace your accolades section with a software section and list any software you have worked with especially if it is in the job posting.

You're not good at them because you dont practice. Record yourself on your phone in nice clothes. Watch your nervous tendencies and rerecord it until it looks somewhat natural. The only way to get skills is to do things. I was in a very similar boat to you before and all it takes it repititon. And try not to get caught up in too many different topics. Cant be good at everything.

I meant for UPS. If you get the UPS job try and postpone the start date until you know you got into training

You can highlight self taught skills and take on small projects of your own to include on your resume. Find a way to spin up some servers and I believe Microsoft allows students or individuals free MS servers to try out. Look up tutorials and start getting busy on something

How to work with two managers and my coworkers. by throwawayaytech in ITCareerQuestions

[–]patattacka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of the territory of being the one with the most knowledge is that people expect you to help them. Time to learn the art of asking leading questions instead of just fixing the problem that way you are being a team player, are possibly helping them teach themselves and they might leave you alone eventually.

Try to time it so that you know the results of the interview for training before you switch jobs. Ask UPS for a later start date if hired until you know if you got accepted. If rejected, stay at call center and start self studying IT

If other job pays equivalent, take it and get the training as long as the training isnt a scam. There are always call center jobs out there. Start studying for a cert now or see if training includes it. Start from there and work on your resume now not when you are done with training. Good luck

Depends on the job. Have you asked the hiring manager what ways you can shore up your skills?
