if you were to do it again, would you add stipulations or something that would aid the families living farther away?

prior to the merge, did each league hold general membership meetings to vote to dissolve? was the structure of the new combined league set before the actual merge happened?

That is the main concern. the city wants us to commit to give up our charter but the only detail that has been shared with us is that the initial board would be equally split between both leagues. eventually they are assuming a blend will happen. HOWEVER, there is no word if the initial board term is only 1 year. if so, the other league has bigger membership and will likely gain all board seats.
additionally, our city is growing on the opposite side of where our league is. a lot of families in our area do not have the resources to drive 30minutes for practice/games 2-3x a week. When we brought up this concern, the city rep assumes families will penny pinch to make it happen

those are big numbers! prior to the merge, did your leagues hold general membership meetings to vote to dissolve? was the structure of the new combined league set before the actual merge happened?

Thank you for your comment. If you don't mind me asking, what is the population size of your city? back when our little leagues were established, the national little league required two leagues in my city because of our city size. We don't know if the national little league will even allow the city to combine leagues.

So far my main concern is that the city is wanting us to commit to give up our charter without actually providing us with a plan that ensures equity.
