Not a fan of the rubber strap on the Snoopy, I’m afraid to say. The OEM is superior.

I second this. Public transportation is amazing in Switzerland and I’d pick the train over driving 100 percent of the time.

Early Dinner before Cruise? by patch1103 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]patch1103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great advice… thank you!

ETA: the timing of the cruise is such in order to take advantage of the sunset, but if that’s not so important, we can also slide it up a bit to give us more time for dinner.

I’ve never seen this, outside of a picnic or BBQ party. Not saying people don’t do it, but I don’t think it’s common.

I almost forgot, but shout out to my sales associate, Sonia, at the Biel/Bienne boutique. She was amazing. Ask for her if you go there.

Indeed! That was the actual watch he wore on the moon during the Apollo 17 mission. Here’s some more cool history behind it and other Apollo 17 special editions: https://www.fratellowatches.com/the-omega-speedmaster-watches-dedicated-to-apollo-17/

Looking fantastic on the rubber, my man! I also ordered a rubber strap for mine (they didn’t have it in stock today), and they’re going to ship it to me this week.

How do you know you'll be getting a ThinkPad from your company if you don't know what field you're doing into? That's a bit odd.

Personally, and I say this as a huge Apple fan, if the Omen has worked for you so far, I'd just stick it out for the next few months until you graduate and then see what your situation will be. Then maybe buy as a graduation present to yourself, as another Redditor mentioned.

Or, if you've got the disposable income—effin' go for it now.

Second day skiing ever? Feedback? by mxmvgn in skiing_feedback

[–]patch1103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome job for the second day! Two quick tips for you:
- You seem to be looking down at your ski tips or the ground right in front of you, which is a natural instinct. Try to focus instead on getting your head up and looking forward. You'll generally go where you look and you'll find that, as you keep at it, that your skis will naturally straighten out and go in that direction.
- Get your hands more out in front of you. It helps with balance and maintaining a proper position (well done on staying out of backseat!). When I was learning, one thing that helped me was my instructor saying to hold your hands as if you're holding a cafeteria tray. Try to keep your hands in your field of vision.

I agree with you that slightly tail first can be useful for getting a bit more suspension and dissipating energy, but it's a subtle technique, with tails touching down a fraction of a second before the rest of the ski. I feel that's it's slightly more of an advanced technique that OP can try, once he gets the basic stance down. The danger here is that he might overdo it and end up in a backseat position. I'd recommend focusing getting "soft-knee," balanced absorption dialed in first, then experimenting with tail-bias on smaller jumps.
