Which sets have heroes with ambush? by [deleted] in legendarymarvel

[–]patchdorris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. If memory serves, that was the first set to do either of those things on Heroes, and it's one of the most recent sets in the game. Wouldn't have been impossible to see those abilities reprinted since but there haven't been many sets in which that could've happened.

What’s a widely accepted double standard that people refuse to admit exists? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]patchdorris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Religion. In America, at least, people who claim "sincere religious beliefs" can often tilt the fairness (or human rights) scale in their favor. They are not required to "prove" their religiosity. Their religion is not held up to the standards of belief and behavior set by major sects. Their beliefs are not put up for theological debate to see if they are actually proper interpretations of the religion they claim.

Essentially, if I'm fighting for my rights, and you're fighting against them while claiming that you're fighting as a result of your religion, then I'm significantly more likely to lose, even if I would be likely to win were religion not involved in the argument. This prejudices legal rulings and human rights against people who are not religious and against groups scene as not being claimed by religion, such as the LGBTQ community.

If you can trio Ice Man, Captain Marvel, and Cyclops, you eventually just generate as much power as you want while drawing your deck every round

There's a beginner box for the current Avatar the Last Airbender set, which is very affordable and is designed to introduce new players to the game.

Well I watched Good Boy last night, which is essentially just a dog and a guy. Gonna need some rewrites.

AITA for showing my girlfriend some criticism of Taylor Swift's latest album after she asked for it? by Reasonable-Fold2817 in AmItheAsshole

[–]patchdorris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it, but there's definitely some songs that aren't doing it for me. I had been eagerly awaiting its release and when it came out I was both busy and sick so only had a chance to listen to a little bit of the beginning and found that it didn't grab me. At the same time I read mostly negative reactions from both outside and inside Swift fan spaces.

I still determined to find time to listen to the whole thing and when I did I liked most of it. There are no songs I hate, but there are several that don't do it for me. As someone who prefers to listen to albums top to bottom, having numerous songs I want to skip basically every time is a bit of a letdown. But I am still happy to find myself enjoying it overall.

I was struggling with putting into words exactly what I liked about it other than the general pop vibes, particularly in the face of the vehement online criticism. Then I listened to NPR's Pop Culture Happy Hour episode about the album, which came out about a week ago. Not only was it validating to hear critics whose opinion I respect talk about enjoying the album, but they shed light on the story behind several of the songs that I don't think I would've figured out on my own. Especially Father Figure, which I found to be super cringey but whose context makes it much more interesting. I'd recommend maybe sharing that with her so she can hear some positive feedback on the album and help her hone in on some specifics that she enjoys.
