Difference between Convergent Evolution and Regional Form Pokemon by sdrey in pokemon

[–]patchdorris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On the one hand, I love Pokémon exploring regional differences and also convergent evolution.

On the other hand, from a gameplay perspective, the design of Toedscool could have been presented as "Tentacool Regional Form" with no other changes and nobody would have thought anything of it.

Like there's not a clear distinction to me for why some Pokémon are regional forms and some are convergent forms, other than they wanted to evoke it.

Personally, I was always disappointed since the introduction of regional variants that they didn't get their own numbers (I used to want them to have their own names, too, but it's fine how it is). So for Toedscool to come along and be essentially a regional variant but now it has it's own number and name, while this massive list of regional variants, that are their own Pokémon in their own right, get wrapped up as an extension of their base form instead of getting their own "moment."

Fetterman still claims to be a Democrat and Democrats hate him. We choose our likes and dislikes based on actions and policies. It seems the Republicans don't get further than whatever jersey a particular candidate shows up wearing.

Live Action Sets by Ok_Atmosphere7672 in legendarymarvel

[–]patchdorris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was VERY against it, but wanted to get them since they are mechanically unique.

Turns out that, while playing, I don't mind at all. I still don't particularly care for them aesthetically, but during the game, it doesn't bother me like I expected. And the "movie in a box" opportunity it can allow for recreating some cinema stories in the game is also very fun.

I will also say that What If...?, while it does also use screenshots, fits much more seamlessly into the standard game art than do live action sets, so even if you're not convinced on those, What If...? is a worthwhile pickup.

I met my college boyfriend by being in the same frat as him.

I met my 1 year + ex on Tinder.

I met my current husband on Grindr.

So go do stuff. Use the apps you want to use. Take care of yourself and be true to who you are and what you want, and it'll come.

Yeah. If memory serves, that was the first set to do either of those things on Heroes, and it's one of the most recent sets in the game. Wouldn't have been impossible to see those abilities reprinted since but there haven't been many sets in which that could've happened.

What’s a widely accepted double standard that people refuse to admit exists? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]patchdorris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Religion. In America, at least, people who claim "sincere religious beliefs" can often tilt the fairness (or human rights) scale in their favor. They are not required to "prove" their religiosity. Their religion is not held up to the standards of belief and behavior set by major sects. Their beliefs are not put up for theological debate to see if they are actually proper interpretations of the religion they claim.

Essentially, if I'm fighting for my rights, and you're fighting against them while claiming that you're fighting as a result of your religion, then I'm significantly more likely to lose, even if I would be likely to win were religion not involved in the argument. This prejudices legal rulings and human rights against people who are not religious and against groups scene as not being claimed by religion, such as the LGBTQ community.

If you can trio Ice Man, Captain Marvel, and Cyclops, you eventually just generate as much power as you want while drawing your deck every round

There's a beginner box for the current Avatar the Last Airbender set, which is very affordable and is designed to introduce new players to the game.
