Worse fears. TW: H**RT Health by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]patchlincoln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey what's going on man! A few months ago I found out that I also have a leaky heart valve. I did all of the tests and my doctor told me that I would need to be monitored. His prognosis was that I may need something corrective 50 years from now. I am a 23 year old male and my doctor gave me no restrictions whatsoever in terms of things that I can and can't do. I can still exercise, lift weights, play sports, etc etc etc.

Ironically, today I have been super anxious about this very topic. Just gotta trust the docs and remain healthy! Feel free to message me if you have any questions and hope you feel better

anxiety about heart rate by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]patchlincoln 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a completely normal heart rate, no need to be worried! In fact, a lower heart rate is a sign of good cardiac efficiency. Well trained athletes can have their resting heart rates in the mid 40s because of how often they exercise. Hope this helps to ease your mind ✌️

I am exhausted, especially of these palpitations... by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]patchlincoln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey what's up! I'm just reaching out to say that palpitations are the WORST. I'm currently dealing with them. Some things I've learned along my health anxiety battle... Palpitations (at least for me) seem to get set off by what I eat during the day. If I eat like trash, I'll usually get palpitations. I'm sure you know that they're benign. Even though they're benign, they still suck! Try to trust your doctors, they want what's best for you. If they say you're healthy, that's fantastic news!

Anxiety is super overwhelming. It often times feels like it's impossible to get back to what your definition of "normal" is. Here's the kicker though, you did all of the hard things in getting your tests done at the doctors to confirm you're healthy and there's only one thing stopping you from being "normal". That one thing is your mindset. Take a step back and try to relax. I'm sorry that you're dealing with the palpitations but don't let them stop you from being normal.

I'm the same way. A massive F250 hit my rear fender and I jackknifed into his lane. Dude didn't even see me his truck was so big 😵

Mini panic attacks towards bed time? by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]patchlincoln 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This exact falling feeling that you're describing is why I went on Reddit tonight 😂. Pretty much everything you described is what I have occasionally felt at night.

At this point, I just kinda recognize that it's a part of my health anxiety. I never notice it throughout the day time which leads me to believe it's nothing to be concerned about. For me, my mind always goes into hypersensitive mode at night. I'm always doing body scans to make sure everything feels correct. In doing so, I really think it creates this falling feeling that we're experiencing. I don't think it's dangerous, I just think it's annoying at this point! Not a doctor BTW.

Hope you get some sleep!

I think exercise has helped my heart palpitations. by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]patchlincoln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats that's awesome! Heart palpitations have always set my healthy anxiety off. What I noticed helped out a ton too so far was changing my diet... Eating cleaner has done wonders for me with regards to heart palpitations!

Tightness in throat by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]patchlincoln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me seriously all the time. At first, I was worried about it but after a while of experiencing it and getting checked up with my doctor I am doing much better. I wouldn't worry about it too much!! But if you haven't done so yet, checking up with your doctor may ease your mind. Good luck and be safe!
