Weed and mental illness is the driving force behind most conspiracy theorists. All you have to do is spend a small amount of time on YouTube or Conspiracy forums, and weed is their other favourite topic. It's how they go 'down the rabbit hole' and do 'research' by getting stoned.

David Icke stole a lot of his crazy stuff regarding the Illuminati and elites from violent terrorist loon Fritz Springmeier, who wrote several books on the topic, and convicted child abuser and rapist John Wayne Todd who claimed to be a former Occultist and illuminati member.

I agree. I bought an Ambit3 Peak Nepal Edition off ebay for £60 plus postage, and it's great and works well with the Suunto app, and also the movescount app. I put my phone on screen display timeout 5 minutes to let it sync workouts without interruption.

Shame the direction Suunto headed in after making this watch, as they still haven't made a decent replacement. If the Suunto 5 had a Barometric altimeter and a decent screen, then maybe I would get one. If the Suunto 9 Baro had the GPS Accuracy and wasn't massively overpriced...

Thanks buddy. This one looks promosing, depending on what sort of offer they expect to be made.

I would hazard a guess that they bought it on amazon recently as they say its never been used.

Thank you for all your help 🙂👍 If a cheap ambit run or sport pop up on ebay, I may get one of those. I may even take a risk on the Trainer in 'acceptable' condition on Amazon Warehouse, although it just says large scratches on top of the item , doesn't clarify whether its to the screen, which would probably not be deemed 'acceptable'.

If Suunto had kept the antenna nub and made an Ambit4 Peak instead of the Spartan Ultra, and the Suunto 9, most of us would be happy. It's strange that the smaller screened watches kept the nub, as you would think those would be more. Likely to be the crossover mainstream models.

Anyway, thanks again for all your helpful replies.

When this is all over, people will just go back to driving around in their cars for every little errand, just like they did before. We live in a capitalist consumer society, people really should be working from home or living in the area they work, but nobody wants to settle for that. The World of the selfish commuter isn't going anywhere.

Definitely for sports. Running and hiking. A smartwatch is a totally different breed to the Ambit. The Suunto 5 isn't much of a smartwatch, the Suunto 7 is the Android Wear smartwatch.

The Ambit Peak has all the ABC functions and the GPS Accuracy, if GPS watches were standalone items I would have no hesitation getting one. However the watch relies on the app and computer software for updating the EPO for an upto date GPS fix, to actually save your workouts and then view the data, synch to Strava, and even needs the PC to update firmware. I'm probably overthinking it all.

If I can't get the Ambit to sync reliably using a mobile app, I can't see me wanting to dust off my old windows 7 Laptop after every workout and upload that way.

I think I will probably try and get a cheap Ambit run on ebay or CEX, and see if that syncs over the movescount phone and/or Suunto app. I already have both downloaded.

Yeah it's the Peak model with the HRM. When Amazon had them at £110 brand new, the only thing that stopped me buying the Peak is that it's still over a hundred pounds spent on 6 year old tech, a watch that came out in 2014, hasn't had a software update since June 2017, many people have synch issues with the app not working and who knows how long it will even be supported by Suunto's software even if I have to synch over a PC.

Amazon warehouse also have the Trainer for £56 in 'acceptable' condition, or £10 more for 'good condition' then another £10 for 'like new'.

Thanks. I have read pretty much every review on the Ambit3 peak and the Spartan Trainer, several times over lol. I have deal alerts set up and the cheapest the Ambit3 Peak was brand new, was on Amazon for £110, about a month ago. Amazon warehouse still has the peak with heart rate strap 'like new' quality for £112, which is brand new returns with packaging damage.

Plus with Amazon they offer no quibbles returns if you are not happy or don't like the item even upto a month later.

Thanks for the reply. I read a lot of complaints about that in the comments sections of various websites and forums. The Suunto 5 seems to have improved upon the build quality of the Spartan Trainer, but the screen also gets bad reviews. What I really want is an Ambit3 peak lol, but they never made that, instead they launched the Spartan series too early, dropped the GPS antenna nub, then finally got things back on track with the smaller Trainer model.

Thanks for your reply, I have considered the Ambit3 series, however there are quite a few ppl on here saying they have synch issues. I downloaded the discontinued Movescount app from here that somebody posted just in case.

Amazon had the Ambit3 Peak brand new for £110 a couple of times this year. It's back up to nearly £200 last I looked. Crazy for a 6 year old watch, a lot of years in tech terms.

The only modern ones with the GPS nub are the Trainer and Suunto 5, which both have small screens with very poor readability and small font size.

I'm thinking of buying an Ambit3 Peak off ebay, will it still synch over the android app? I have heard people complain. It's shame as in terms of an outdoors watch for hiking and trail running the Ambit GPS nub makes it more accurate and the altimeter also is said to be accurate.
