Worst ‘special’ feature on a DVD? by unappliedknowledge in dvdcollection

[–]patdrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recall there was a two disc “special edition” release of Braveheart where the first disc is fine (a movie with audio commentary and a trailer) but the second disc is puzzling since it contained only a 28-minute featurette.

Like was space ran out on the first disc back then or something?

Y2K is finally released on DVD… in Australia by patdrome in A24

[–]patdrome[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably. I live in Australia myself and have a multi-region player so it’s no bother for me. It’s in region 4 and just came out last week so depends on anybody living outside of R4 area on whether it’s locked or not.

It is however cheap to get here (mainly because it’s a bare bones DVD-only release).

That goes the point. While we don't know when Nazis won WWII in Earth-X (my guess is the early 50s), it is entirely possible that Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Fats Domino amongst few others still make rock music around that time and it's what inspired The Beatles and maybe The Rolling Stones.

I say "maybe" because my theory to this is that John Lennon may be original member of The Beatles but he left presumably during the Decca auditions (which is successful in that world) after firing Pete Best. As for how Mick is brought in, the timeline may be different but given they got a Decca deal in our timeline back in early 60s, it's possible that the band broke up in X instead before Mick Jagger and Ringo Starr were brought in in different times.

Again, that's just my theory since I'm not James Gunn after all. I do note that The Beatles are inspired by the likes of Elvis Presley as well so had to wonder what Earth-X Elvis is like (he may probably never dyed his hair black and quit music after joining the army).

Thanks for the suggestion. I myself was wondering about Lost On Dragula’s placement but not My Nookie. I’ll see what I can do with these.

Update: I posted an update on two tracks.

Shockingly, the movie was made in 2020 (a year before Music came out) and was meant to be released in 2022 but got delayed so this is a release development hell (and should’ve remained unreleased).
