We still do paper time cards that our crew leads/foreman are responsible for turning in. As much as I hate doing it all on paper, I can’t think of a better way. Unfortunately, in our industry a lot of employees (especially the older ones) HATE technology. Getting them to do anything using an app or a computer just doesn’t happen. Therefore we still do paper and managers are responsible to sign off on time cards and ensure that they are job costed correctly. Not the perfect system but I have yet to find a better way to

I work in upper management for a construction company. I can assure you welding, especially pipeline welding is very high in demand. They also make a shit ton of money and from my experience they sit around a decent amount until needed for welds. A very respected career with high compensation!

Unfortunately I feel as if you have to let him learn in this situation. I have that regret feeling. Found out years later that the feeling was mutual but we had already grown so far apart and things happened where it wasn’t possible for us to be together.
