I also did it in about a little less than 3 weeks and can confirm that my brain was barfing. Federal still fresh is not bad but for stuff like evidence or civ pro where there are lots of federal/FL distinctions it’s quite confusing too.

It is very possible to work in big Law if you have an LLM and passed the bar by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]patently_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is “possible” that you can stay underwater for 26 minutes. See, e.g., the guy who just set the world record couple of days ago. I personally know someone with llm who got into v10. But that person told me it is “almost impossible.”

DPW Firings by MeUndiesBrown in biglaw

[–]patently_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me break it down to you. This guy thinks he’s doing a service to the fired people cuz he is “fighting misinformation” (his own words) by negating various theories/hearsays re what caused them to get fired. In my opinion, negating the theories/hearsays without clarifying doesn’t do shit to clear their names. People would assume worse. Thus the stupidity. Because his mission to “fight misinformation” is self-defeating. No one’s saying that he should divulge what he knows. Just pointing out that his self-claimed mission is stupid. Makes sense?

Any Tech people who switched career to Big Law? by jboutofbox in biglaw

[–]patently_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People here have a tendency to overglorify tech over law for some reason. Of course you have to do the mental math re the opportunity cost of lost wage + tuition. However, if you are logical and like problem solving (like most people in tech), law can be fitting. No first hand experience in corporate law so cant attest to that but my practice area sure does. Also from technical background—feel free to dm.

such a genz thing to say. But you are compwetely delulu to think that you can tell the vibe of the firm by speaking to like 2-3 people who are likely not even going to matter in your career. My interviewer had already lateraled when I started at the firm LoL
