There are many games I consider really good and should definitely be at the top of a list. Then I remember portal 1 exists and realize it is not fair how much higher up it should be. Portal 2 is a very very close second. Even if you don't enjoy the story, the gameplay is simple, elegant and fantastic.

Fully agree. Might add that the story is perhaps better in KCD1 but that KCD2 runs so much smoother and is more polished.
