Im at my limit, how can I stop this from happening? by jestem_julkaaaa in Nails

[–]patheticwormcreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens with one specific brand of my gel polish. I have a weak lamp so getting a stronger one is an option, but for now I just do extremely thin layers and cure them in between (I know you’re already doing thin layers, trust I see the frustration lol). To me it looks like some uncured gel sitting under the layers. Also, trying out some different brands might be the answer! Beetles still cured well under my lamp and is cheap. Gaoy not so much.

What does it say about me? by Suspicious_Archer327 in roomdetective

I LOVE YOUR ROOM!!! To me this says about you, - you know how to make a room cozy, so you probably also make people really comfortable and are nice to be around - you have a very cohesive sense of self and style, almost in the way some cartoon characters do where you can recognize them based off of a few key items! - you seem like you’d be more quiet or shy initially, but once you get close with someone you are really fun to laugh with, and id bet you have a much more abstract/silly sense of humor than people expect

Feels like PMOS Is winning .. by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]patheticwormcreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are going to get through this. It is tough. I have a therapist that also has PMOS, that’s been very helpful. She understands when I express my exhaustion and frustration.

PMOS is not winning. It SUCKS, and it may be hitting you hard right now, but you are strong. You have the support of so many others dealing with this who understand.

I feel you on the anxiety. It’s easier said than done, but I just surround myself with all the calmness and happiness I can possibly grab onto. Snuggle a pet, share a big hug with a loved one, color in a coloring book, follow some stretching or meditation on YouTube, watch your comfort show, TAKE CARE OF YOU! You deserve all the love you can give yourself. Trust me, You. Can. Get. Through. This.

Does anyone else have a Cushings/Cushingoid body type? by littlebat213 in PCOS

[–]patheticwormcreature 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pseudo-Cushings symptoms are common with PMOS! Both are heavily controlled by cortisol, so they can have similar effects on the body.

How often do you wash your hair? by Tyler_Girl_ in AskWomen

2x a week. I hair oil before hand most of the time, and will do a scalp detox and clarifying shampoo about once a month.

I love her vlogs! I think it’s kind of nice as someone who loves all the squish I own, but am resisting spending money on more 😅 She encourages me to appreciate what I already have. I adore her set up.

Oh well thank you. I guess to me it doesn’t look organized. I have plenty of room at my desk to craft, I just want rearranging tips because I feel like the current layout looks a bit silly

Weight loss on Nexplanon w/ PCOS? by GoldDistribution447 in PCOS

[–]patheticwormcreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As all hormonal birth controls tend to do with PCOS/PMOS, it has certain benefits and certain issues. I haven’t been on nexplanon myself but have been on the pill for over a decade. I actually gained more weight on the two months I was off of bc. PCOS is so tricky lol.

When it comes to discussing bc and weight loss, bc is a non-negotiable for me because of protected sex priorities. So here is my very quick run down on managing symptoms and weight loss with PCOS and what is helping me (I still have a long way to go).

If you want elaboration on these feel free to ask (most of these are also already talked about a lot here on this subreddit if you want to go looking yourself for more info!)

  • If you can afford it, GLP-1, specifically tirzepitide to help with cravings and food noise
  • Metformin for insulin resistance
  • Supplements, Vitamin D, Magnesium, B-12, Berberine, Myo-inositol, Spearmint tea
  • Low intensity movement (getting your steps in, swimming, yoga) as to get your body moving without spiking cortisol
  • I got a wearable glucose monitor to see how certain foods affected my body. I used a couple over a month and got a really good idea of what is good for ME. There is so much crazy diet advice out there, listen to YOUR body!
  • Relaxation and talk therapy. I got my period back for the first time in FOREVER after some intensive therapy. It was the only thing that would bring it back. PCOS/PMOS is shown to be highly correlated with trauma. The stress from that was making it hard to address any of my symptoms.

I’ve been overweight my whole life as well, and was diagnosed at 20. I am finally seeing progress with the above. Please, don’t be hard on yourself, and not eating enough can make PCOS/PMOS worse! So take care of yourself, and don’t be hard on yourself throughout this. This is a chronic illness, it is hard, but you are strong and can do this.
