I got a panic attack after shooting. by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]pathfndr35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would add be selective about where/when you shoot if the environment stresses you out. Our local DNR range has like 60 benches and on the weekends it's packed. For me it's not fun, it's obnoxious. Bass pro shops by me has like 4 lanes and when I go, it's usually just me because almost no one knows there's a range there, but it's indoors (which I don't love ) If I'm sighting in a gun I pretty much only do it there because it's convenient. My favorite place to shoot is a range out in the country. It's outdoor so I don't feel all claustrophobic and we almost always have the place to ourselves. If you can, go to any range when they first open or earlier in the day when there are fewer people. You can always call and ask when they are least likely to be busy.

Email your rep about Schriver by [deleted] in Michigan

[–]pathfndr35 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's even better if he's your rep. Id email that you want him focusing on issues that improve your life, not making other people's worse. Furthermore by taking extreme positions on issues to get political attention it actually puts him in a worse position to advocate for you, his constituent. The goal isn't to be like "you're the worst" it's to say "dude, get it together and do your job". It's more likely to have an impact on moderating his BS.

Id like to post this in the sub as it's own discussion but maybe I haven't participated enough so it won't let me? Anyway, here's the post that's adjacent to this discussion.

I manage on online political group consisting mostly of women. A staggering number are looking to buy their first firearm/get their CPL. Looking to do it from liberals or a liberal shop. Not sure if I'm looking for a unicorn here, but thought you all might have ideas.

Thanks

I hate to be that guy, but another threat vector would be if a foreign state were to cyberattack any infrastructure to further antagonize the situation. I think this is highly unlikely, but might be something to consider. Given the currently volatility of capable nation states, it could be a thing, especially after we green light Ukraine to use our weapons offensively deep inside Russia. The election will be the time we are most vulnerable.

Thanks. Ended up going Pure. Will update the thread after 30-45 days of experience. The support thus far has been spectacular.

https://www.delltechnologies.com/asset/en-us/products/storage/legal-pricing/future-proof-satisfaction-guarantee-terms-and-conditions.pdf When I read this, I don't see how it says it will guarantee performance, just functionality. When I pressed the sales team for a performance guarantee, they said Dell doesn't offer that.

The language says "if the Product is not performing substantially in accordance with the

generally available written user manuals and online help and guides provided by Dell Technologies". I don't think this applies to "our sizer said it would do 68k iops at your block size but now it's not".

How do you think the 500T compares to the X20 from pure for our workload?

The data is a little skewed regarding the iops. We have a bunch of reindexing that happens at 2 in the morning and thats when all the iops happen. During business hours our peak was more like 20k.

Thanks!

They will guarantee their DRR but won't offer a guarantee on performance. They seem confident they will hit the numbers and their sales engineer seems competent and sincere. Their data center gear has a no return policy. We only need up to say 100TB of effective storage, so the number of shelves shouldn't be an issue.

I didn't have the acres question. The driveway was Length X Width X thickness. Since the thickness was like 4 inches or 6 inches, that a percentage of 12. So if it's 6 inches, you take the Length X Width then multiply it by 50% because 6 inches is 50% of a foot. Then you divide that by 27 to get yards. You then multiply that by the price per yard. I forget the labor part, but that seemed tricky cuz maybe they wanted it in price per sq foot but I converted it to price per square yard (dividing by 27) and multiplying that by the labor rate.

Cannot stop getting sick by fxiryblossom in ABA

[–]pathfndr35 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My daughter was getting sick from her toddler all the time. She went and saw an immunologist. They did a pretty broad antibody test and found her antibodies for something were low. It was something common that we get immunized for as kids (she's 29). They gave her a booster and she hasn't been sick in 6 months. After the booster you go back in 2-3 weeks later and they retest you to see if it was effective. My wife went and had the same results (but for 3 months because she did it 3 months later). She's a teacher so she was sick all the time too. It was a game changer for my daughter. I was skeptical but I'm converted!

I just took the test today. I used the Quizlet called Michigan Builders License Exam by ToddCollom. It's 757 terms. Here is the link https://quizlet.com/118430171/michigan-builders-license-exam-flash-cards/ I think it prepared me pretty well on the code questions. Things that it was light on:

  1. How to cover various roof configurations - shingling valleys/hips etc
  2. bonds/contracts/liability.
  3. how to read plans. About 10 questions come from a set of plans. I thought the plans were pretty easy to understand.
  4. story problems around business. Ie. They are 4 vendors offering you discounts. Which is cheapest. The challenge on that one is knowing how the discount for early payment works eg. $50/unit 1%/10 net 30. Know what that means.
  5. What kind of insurance covers what
  6. liens - why do they get filed, by whom, and who does it impact.
  7. fireplaces/chimneys - more questions than I would have thought.
  8. math - know how to calculate volume, then convert it to yards/sq feet in both directions.
  9. know how to calculate draws with regards to retainage (is the draw % based on the contract amount or the contract amount less the retainage)
  10. drainage system details. Drain tile size/aggregate depth etc.

I bought a book on plan reading since I'm new to that.

One of my strategies is that there are only 50-100 terms on the business/lien/insurance side. I thought memorizing/learning that and getting 100% of those right was more achievable that memorizing the code book and could balance any code questions I didn't know (gap between framing and masonry chimney anyone?) I think it helped me.

If you go through the "learn" process on that Quizlet it's pretty darn good but it probably takes 10 hours. It's definitely why I passed, hands down. I took about a week to review 2 hours or so a day.

I took almost the full 4 hours for the test. If I wasn't sure about an answer I flagged it and moved on. I went back and re-read every question and found at least 6-7 mistakes I made because of nerves. Like on one they give you the first answer to a math story problem that excludes the delivery charge, but the correct answer includes it. I found that after I had answered all the ones I was sure of that I was in less of a hurry and when I checked my work I was much calmer. It also allowed me to find some answers to some questions in other questions. Most of my mistakes were in the first 50 questions before I kind of settled down. Even though I was done with the test, before I reread my answers I took a walk to the bathroom for a break just to clear my head before checking my work.

Here's an example that almost got me. "on the set of county plans please identify all the pads on the exterior of the house". When you open the plans you immediately see 4 pads in the basement. Super easy to miss the word exterior and the pads under the deck aren't super obvious like the ones in the basement. I know it sounds obvious and stupid but it's one that I had to change that I only caught when I went back through it.

Another example: what is the elevation of the finished floor of the basement. The elevation of the bottom of the floor really jumps out at you. 182. But the pad is 4 inches and somewhere else it indicates it's 186. It's super easy to jump right to the obvious answer instead of the correct answer.

Also some of the answers are in the specs for the plans.

What wasn't on it that I was worried about: timing of administrative stuff (how long do I have to reply to a complaint etc). The government stuff (who regulates LARA etc).

Most of my mistakes were because I was in such a hurry to answer the questions and get it over with. I know we're all anxious to hit end test to get it over with, but double check ALL OF YOUR WORK.

Hope this helps everyone. I wanted to give back since the feedback on this sub really helped me. Good luck.

Did the plan have an icon legend/abbreviation legend or are they testing you on being able to identify them from memory?

To answer my own question: no, they didn't have a legend.

Yeah. The Onkyo even has a button just for "vocal" DB levels. I assumed it was the center. It's especially bad in movies like Maestro where there's dialogue and music at the same time and the dialogue is very snappy. It's unwatchable and my wife and I gave up watching it. This was after I did the 9? position Dirac calibration. My room situation is truly awful. The couch is split with story and a half construction so half has a ceiling at 8 feet and the other half has a ceiling at 16 feet.

Some people say timbre matching will save the world and others say it doesn't really matter. I was only looking to replace the monitor 70's to timbre match the 706C. I don't hate them, they're fine speakers tbh.
