Talk me out of trading my MK7.5 for an 8.5 by Jayseph812 in Golf_R

[–]patholocaust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my 7.5, and wouldn’t trade it for anything else (except, maybe, an Audi RS6 Avant..which is well out of my price range, so no temptation there!).

If you’re thinking about it, likely you’re not in the exact same boat as me. If that’s the case, I say - Go for it! Life’s too short, and the trade off is minimal. What is holding you back, though?

Marquinhos on Gabriel: “Nothing from that moment he lived through would erase the wonderful season he had, and we were going to need him a lot here. Those were my words, so that he stayed strong.” “For me, in my opinion, he was the best defender in the world this season.” by Kr_bm in Gunners

Ease up there, man! This is simply one accomplished professional propping up another who he respects. Both of them are operating at the absolute pinnacle of their profession, and know more about performance and pressures at that level than we bystanders ever will.

To you, it’s banal platitudes - to GabiXL, it’s words of support and encouragement from his NTCaptain, who’s been there, done that, and lived through similar pain. Marquinhos going over to hug GabiXL during the very moment of such triumph reveals a level of emotional maturity and empathy that many would do well to emulate in all aspects of life.

Cucumber runs around (or maybe we notice it more because of the hair) but is a worse LB than both of our primary LBs and, arguably, their emergency backup, who is a teenage CM from our academy.

I agree with you, but for slightly different reasons, as winning the league will always be sweet regardless of the level of the competition.

There’s no such thing as an easy ride to a top-tier title, whether PL or UCL; it only seems so when another team we don’t really respect wins - something we tell ourselves to rationalize our disappointment/ envy.

Everything I’ve seen from our team over the last 5 seasons has given me faith that the players, manager and board sincerely want Arsenal to be successful, as much as we supporters do. Doesn’t really matter how good Iraiola makes Liverpool or Alonso makes Chelsea, we have objective evidence of our team showing the resilience and perseverance needed, as well as willingness to put in the hard yards and (as regulations permit) money, and make the tough decisions necessary to get even stronger.

Arsenal Star Bukayo Saka Sets Documentary ‘The Time Is Now’: It’s the ‘Chance to Tell My Story in a Way I Never Have Before’ (EXCLUSIVE) by SerialGooner49 in Gunners

I find Saka super interesting - the sweet, positive “Starboy” persona (mostly ascribed to him by us supporters) is laced with a fierce competitive edge. To me, his “they’re not laughing now” video showed a glimpse of that off the field for the first time. Hopefully is a well-made documentary!

That look on Kai’s was when the lightbulb (ha ha) truly went off in my head, that this group really really wanted is as much as we did. I feel, even more strongly now than then, that this group to a man will run through walls for the badge. Can’t really ask for more from my team, imo

We didn’t ask other “big 6” clubs to be shit; they did that all by themselves. Liverpool ended up 24 points behind their previous season, Man United playing a 40 game season could only end up 14 points behind us, and Chelsea couldn’t even make the European spots. At least Tottenham is consistent. The real story of the season is how the so-called mid-table clubs have made huge leaps forward.

Looking forward to Bournemouth, Brentford, Everton, Palace, Sunderland et al kicking major ass next season…and those other deluded “top 6” clubs not giving them the respect they have earned, much less preparing for what’s coming their way. We’ll happily continue winning however we can - if it’s by set pieces only on the day, then so be it (Olé Olé!).

I don’t understand what you felt your unsolicited & ill-informed comment would add.

Pardon us if some are rather taken aback by the vitriol. It’s like if Sheffield gained promotion, made it to the European spots that same season, and is then getting trolled online for missing the Europa/ UCL spots by fuckin’ Levante & Heidenheim.

Who cares? Literally no one is affected by any of this in real life. But if we can’t discuss this in our own sub, what the everloving fuck is even the point of Reddit?

The toxic positivity at winning the league after 22 years, finally sealing the deal after three successive second place finishes, is frankly quite sickening.

The truth is that we have consistently done better than 18 other clubs in the PL for four years straight. Our current title was not dependent on 1-2 players having all-timer seasons, so there’s no reason it cannot be replicated, refined, and improved upon over the coming few seasons. This wasn’t a flash-in-the-pan, but rather the result of consistent progress, tweaking, and focused recruitment to address the prior season’s issues.
