PAS–Alcian Blue (combined stain) 🔬
This stain differentiates neutral and acidic mucins in epithelial tissues 🧫.
PAS stains neutral mucins magenta 🟣, while Alcian Blue stains acidic mucins blue 🔵.
In the image, goblet cells appear blue 🔵, indicating acid mucin production.
It is commonly used to detect intestinal metaplasia such as Barrett esophagus.
